Crystal's POV

After taking those white pills, I walked upstairs towards our room. Once inside, I sat on the bed, looking out the window. My lips curved into a soft smile as I saw the rose petals still scattered on the ground. The sight was beautiful. Kian's efforts were slowly melting my heart, bit by bit.

"Isn't your dad being so sweet suddenly?" I whispered softly to my unborn child. Of course, there was no reply, but a small chuckle escaped my lips. I was waiting... waiting for this little one to come into my life.

A contented sigh left me as I slowly lay down on the bed, hugging a pillow close. The soft blanket kept me warm. Closing my eyes, I imagined nothing but a small, happy family—Kian, me, and our baby.

...

a chill ran down my spine. I opened my eyes, and my surroundings blurred. When I focused, my heart sank. I saw him.

"Uncle..." I gasped, staring at him with wide eyes. His face was blank, emotionless, as he walked slowly toward me. The distance between us closed too quickly, and his hand reached out, gently stroking my hair.

"You'll come with me, right?" he asked, his voice void of warmth. I stood there, frozen.

His gaze roamed over me, making me feel exposed, vulnerable. I wanted nothing more than to run into Kian's arms.

"Kian..." I whispered, but Uncle only laughed. Before I could react, he grabbed my dress and tore it away with brutal force. My eyes widened in terror, and I thrashed desperately, trying to escape.

I screamed Kian's name over and over, but just as he was about to rip away the last piece of clothing, everything went silent. Then, a piercing, agonizing scream shattered the stillness, making me tremble in fear.

Uncle's throat was slit right in front of my eyes. His scream echoed as blood splattered all over my half-naked body. I frantically rubbed the stains off, but they wouldn't go away. I saw no one but Kian... I thought he had saved me. But no, it wasn't him.

I looked at him, feeling betrayed. His eyes were blank, panicked, and tearful.

"Why?" I whispered, a loud sob escaping as I tried to wipe away the blood.

Third person's pov...

It had been half an hour since Kian returned from work, only to find Crystal thrashing and crying in her sleep. He didn't say a word, just lay down beside her, wrapping his arms around her waist, holding her tightly.

"I'm sorry," he whispered, burying his face in her back, trying to hide the tears that kept falling.

crystal's pov..

The night came, and I slowly stepped down from the bed, my eyes drifting toward the window again. This time, only darkness greeted me. My gaze shifted to the clock. It was 8:13.

"Oh my God, what's happening to me?" I whispered to myself, startled when something brushed against my back. I turned around quickly to see Kian still lying there, asleep in his coat.

I bent down, drawing my face closer to his, studying every feature. One by one, my eyes traced the handsome lines of his face. "You're so handsome, Kian..." I whispered, my lips inching closer until they met his. My eyes were still open, watching him, and widened when his eyes fluttered open too.

"Stealing kisses while your husband is sleeping is bad manners, Birdy," he teased, breaking the kiss. His hands slid to my waist, pulling me up onto his body before taking my lips in his again.

"Hubby..." I murmured between kisses, and he hummed, his voice a low growl.

"Yes, wifey."

A furious blush warmed my cheeks as I responded to his kiss. It was wet, warm, and sweet.

"Birdy, you're perfect," he whispered against my lips. I hummed, smiling softly before replying.

"No one is perfect."

His grip on my waist tightened as he pulled me closer, his voice firm yet tender.

"But you will always be... just for me, Birdy."

Dinner was already set on the table, and I arched an eyebrow at Kian, silently asking the question. He responded with a shrug. "Told Aunt to prepare it."

I chuckled, teasing him, "I knew it. You can't even make one meal for me."

He looked offended, his lips forming a big pout. Grabbing my hand, he pulled me into the kitchen.

"I'll prove you wrong!" he declared, making me laugh.

He started pulling out ingredients and finally opened the top drawer, retrieving the main ingredient—flour. But as he lifted it, all the flour spilled down onto him. He coughed, and I saw flour puffing out of his mouth.

"fuck ," I cursed, and Kian's eyes went wide.

I clutched my stomach, laughing so hard that tears formed in my eyes. Kian watched me for a few moments before bursting into laughter too. He knelt, grabbing a fistful of flour from the floor, and threw it at me.

I glared at him, pouting, before grabbing some flour myself and throwing it back. The flour fight continued for a while until my foot slipped on the flour-coated floor. I would have fallen if Kian hadn't caught me just in time.

"You saved me..." I whispered.

"I always will, Birdy," he said, his voice husky as he lifted me into a bridal hold. Carrying me to the bathroom, he gently laid me in the bathtub.

"Now it's my turn to wash you up, Birdy," he whispered, and I nodded with a soft smile but then arched my eyebrow looking at his dirtied figure too...
