Huff...
I placed one of my feet on the flower design decorating the wall, and that was the end. I knew I could see the outside. It was filled with a long and dense forest. I gulped, seeing the silence there.
But wait a minute...
Why are there no guards?
I quickly looked around. Yes, there were no guards, no maids, no people, until now. It was strange. I took a deep breath and placed both my legs on top, ready to jump when suddenly the sound of sirens started blaring out of nowhere. I shook my head repeatedly, looking around to find what was happening. I heard the sound of boots approaching quickly, and that was enough to make me jump.
I scowled in pain after landing, but it wasn't the time to feel the pain. I quickly started running. The guards followed me from not so far away. The forest was scary. I kept bumping into trees but didn't dare to lose my speed. I quickly removed my slippers while running to keep my speed steady. I kept taking heavy breaths. I turned my head to look behind, and the guards were still following me. I kept my gaze straight ahead while running for a few minutes and then turned again to look and...
No one was there. No one was behind me. I frowned and stopped, looking around if it was some kind of trap, but no one came, just some insects crawling on the ground. I was breathing heavily, my gaze everywhere. I was alert; if anything came, I would run in the opposite direction.
LET'S PLAY A GAME, BIRDY...
A voice came out of nowhere loudly. I quickly looked around to find the direction. To be real, that voice gave me chills because I recognized it—Kian. Without wasting time, I started running straight.
STOP... Kian shouted again, and I felt my whole courage dropping bit by bit. The shout was scary.
Sister... I heard the small voice which made me halt. My legs lost the power to move, and I stopped...
Neo... I whispered, my eyes got teary. Neo is Suzen's (maid's) child, a lovely boy with blue doe eyes that held nothing but innocence. I used to play with him secretly, giving him fruits to eat. He is a cute little puffball who knows nothing but to play around.
My legs lost the strength to stand, and I collapsed on the ground, accepting defeat.
WHY, WHY, WHY ME? I screamed in agony, but nothing came in response.
PLEASE DON'T HURT HIM, I shouted again, and the response came...
Okay, I won't... Kian said, and I quickly stood up, wiping my tears away. I knew now there was no way to leave, so I turned and started going back to hell when...
Stop, Birdy, you can't come that easily after leaving me here... he said devilishly.
My eyes started to get teary again, remembering Rose's condition and every punishment...
Let's play hide and seek, Birdy. If they find you, this boy will be in danger, and if they can't find you, I will let this boy go... he said, and I let out a whimper at his cruelty before nodding my head vigorously at his demand.
YOU ARE CRUEL... I shouted in pain and anger. He chuckled before letting out the words...
LET'S START...
I stiffened when I heard the sound of barking, not one, not two, but at least forty of them were running towards me. All had large bodies, black fur, their eyes held nothing but hunger, their long sharp teeth shining brightly with saliva...
I trembled and quickly turned and started running away...
RUN, BIRDY, RUN BECAUSE THIS DOG IS HUNGRY...
Third Person's POV...
In the dark room filled with nothing but the sound of begging...
MASTER, PLEASE LEAVE HIM... a woman shouted at the top of her lungs, wanting nothing but mercy for her child...
The man, whom the woman was calling master, turned to face her and let out a chuckle...
Shh... THE GAME HAS JUST BEGUN NOW...
