Again, Without You

chapter 10

After hearing the news that Kelby had called with Ethan decided to go to Cobbles, Ohio and see Kelby as he was missing her a lot and did not want her to be alone while working on the building there and being pregnant. Looking at his phone he texted her 'I will see you soon and am on my way to pick you up and bring you home if you are ready if not, then for a mini vacay to new York city.' he then placed his phone into his upper shirt pocket as he always had when working out on the rigs to keep it close for calls he needed to answer.

Kelby saw the text and was glad to see that Ethan was on his way to pick her up and yes she was ready to go home, to be with him and snuggle. 'I am just about thru here and will have Donald take me to the airport to meet you. Then we can go eat at the Boris bar bbque house for supper when you get here. I love you:)' she had sent back to him.

Maggie was really upset when she left the park where she had to pick up the litter from the playground that was missed by a family who was there playing with their children. Her parole officer was there to check up on her progress for the week. Maggie smiled at him and winked trying to flirt her way out of doing the job, when she noticed that her sister Marleena was there at a picnic table with her secretary Cera and other people from her husband's company of employees. 'what is she doing with them and why are they here? She is getting to be way out of control' as she neared the group of people, she saw there was a woman there that she did not recognize. "UM HUM" she cleared her throat loudly for everyone to hear.

Marleena looking up with a calm expression on her face and her eyes were unreadable to her sister "What do I owe this pleasure to sister Maggie?" Maggie looking as if she was the owner of the park stepped back to the edge of the pavilion and lost her footing landing on her diarriear complaining that she was pushed by her sister which the parole officer only saw her fall and who was standing there on the pavilion.

The parole officer came over to check on Maggie and heard her complaining that her sister had pushed her from the pavilion step, taking her word over her sister's he was calling in to have assistant to take Marleena in for questioning and was overly wrought when everyone at the area said that Marleena did not push Maggie and that she had only lost her footing on the step that she was standing on when she backed away for people to pass her to bring food for their party in celebration of completing the Princess Tower hotel. Everyone was talking at the same time while Marleena remained quiet on the issue.

Realizing what Maggie's ploy was, when the extra unit arrived her parole officer gave Maggie to them and said "take her in she is not gonna be able to work fot rhe next week due to her tripping herself off the steps her at this park." leaning over to the officer and whispering "she did this on purpose to get out of work."

The other officer nodded her head in agreement, "I think you are right about that she tried to get her sister to work for her so she could leave and not come back"

Treyce found that Maggie was taken to jail for a sprained ankle and would not be home tofix his meal he was upset and went looking for Marleena. He found her and a group of people at the park where he had dropped off Maggie that morning and went up to Marleena and slapped her across her face hard leaving whelps, saying angrily "Why did you not take care of your sister? Why did you send her to jail this afternoon, for what did she ever so to you to deserve it?"

Marleena was taken by sheer surprise when Treyce slapped her. Everyone there had seen him slap his sister in law blaming her for what happened to his wife and they knew the truth as his wife faked a fall to blame her sister for it.

After Marleena could get her wits together she looked up and saw Donald with his cousin in law walking up. As soon as he had seen the marks across her face Donald's eye turned dark and demanded "Who did this to you? I won't let them go for doing this."

Ethan was looking at Treyce with a menacing grin and lifted his phone to report an assault on a person in the park. When the police arrived they noted that the people at the pavilion was gathered around the ones involved in the dispute. Seeing that Treyce was in the circle they immediately walked up to him and handcuffed him reminding him that he was on parole and now they can add this to his list of misdemeanors and lengthen his community service for this as well. Promptly leaving to take him to jail for the rest of the weekend to spend some time thinking about what he did only fueled his desire to completely ruin Marleena's reputation in the business world.

Donald took Marleena to have her face looked at and to check her vision at the emergency department. While they were there Donald asked her if he could get her something cold to drink from the vending machine outside as they waited for the results of the visual check. The nurse brought in a cooling pack to help with the swelling to the cheek and eye area saying "this will help with the swelling of your face and the bruising that may occur to your eye"  and then handed Marleena her discharge paperwork.
