Again, Without You

chapter 11

Marleena thanked Donald for taking her to the emergency room and taking her home from there. He was very courteous when he wanted to be especially towards Marleena, yet he didn't dare to tell his parents about her thinking that they would want him to marry someone of his age. Donald hadn't seen Marleena since they graduated with their Masters degree from Osane University College then he went on to get his doctrate in business at the Havelin University in New Maine.

The very next day the crew that had finished with the Princess Tower Hotel was all invited to attend the Business Of Excellence Conference that was to be taking place in December at the Ramon's Hotel in Ohio and learn about the new technical items that help with their job and their saftey. Marcus showed signs of being interested and signed up for a slot to stay at that hotel, wondering if it would give him better ideas of how to complete a job while keeping his crew safe as well as keeping the safety features going in a building as well, knowing what had happened to the Princess Tower Hotel. His co-workers encouraged that he was going to do this conference a few more had signed up to go as well.

Ethan and Kelby were at the park waiting for Donald to return to pick them up and take them back to the home of her aunt and uncle where they were staying. Ethan noticed that it was getting dark and took Kelby by the hand, started walking towards the public bus stop for transportation to the nearest bus stop for the Rogenis' home. Kelby was looking weary and tired from the walk "shouldn't we call Donald to come and pick us up?"

"I have tried calling him and his phone has been turned off, or he has forgotten to turn it back on, I realize that he doesn't do this kind of thing, so I have decided to take the public transportation to the Rogenis' house this evening. Are you in or do you prefer the dark to wait in?" Ethan quipped from being tired from traveling.

"I believe that I'll go with you. I sure don't want to wait not here being pregnant and by myself." Kelby thinking that she and the baby would get hurt really bad if she waited any longer. Looking up Kelby saw the bus the was on the route near her relatives house as it was waiting to let people off she and Ethan were able to get tickets from the bus driver to take them to the stop nearest her relatives home.

Getting off of the bus and paying the fare for the tickets, Ethan carried Kelby on his back the three blocks to the Rogenis' house. When they arrived they noticed that Donald's car was already in the driveway Kelby walked heavily into the foyer slamming her belongings onto the table with a loud kabam bringing everyone in the house to attention, Ethan smiling like the cat who ate the canary knew that they were in for an ear full of what for. Kelby in the most authoritative tone with a who done it sound that resonated into the whole house, "I REALLY APPRECIATE YOU, DONALD FOR LEAVING US THERE TO CLEANUP EVERYONE'S MESS AT THE PARK AND NOT RETURNING LIKE YOU SAID. NO EXCUSES WILL WORK WITH ME, YOU GOOSE PIMPLE"

Donald seeing that Kelby was very upset remembered that he was supposed to pick them up at the park at six pm after dropping Marleena off at her home. Slipping down in the chair as if he could hide all of his six foot eight inch body from her was a wrong thing to pull as she looked at him trying to hide. Kelby walks over and grabs his shirt and yanks him to sit up straight in the chair he had slumped in and thwack goes the chair arm with her hand next to his arm that was resting on it. Donald has never seen Kelby this so upset even when she was little she wasn't this mean he thought.

"I.. I'm sorry, I forgot and I had turned my ringtone off while Marleena was in the emergency room being looked at and then I took her home. Please don't be mad at me." Donald pleaded with Kelby as if his life depended on hers, while she glared at him as if to be looking right through his brain and see the cogwheels turning.

"Oh no you don't get off that easy. There is no excuse for what you did to me and Ethan. You wait until the Business of Excellence conference comes up and you are first in line on the agenda." Kelby said with mischief in her voice turning to her husband "Don't you agree with me about that, honey? I'll call Julia and tell her you want to be the first to tell how you keep your business alive and you can't get out of it either Donald." giving a wicked laugh that sent shivers down everyones spine except for Ethan which knew what she was like as a boss.

"I couldn't agree with you more sweetheart. I just love how we already have our first speaker for the conference already confirmed. Oh, here I have mom on speed dial let me call her now so she won't have to worry" as he pulled out his phone and handed it to Kelby to talk to his mom about the conference.

Julia Calsburg-Dakster answered her son's call "hello I'm glad you called I just need a few names to fill the roster for speakers. Do you have any one in mind?"

"yes I do mom and his name is Donald Rogenis and he is the Owner and founder of Micron Accessories dealing with computer parts, and has many stores nationwide so what do you say?" Kelby had said nonchalantly surprising Julia

"Would love to put him on the list Kelby. What spot should we put him in?" Julia asked curiously.

Kelby smugly replied "put him on the first slot to speak, I think that would be alright, Don't you Donald?"

"Ugh whatever you say Kelby. I'll do it" Donald gulped as if he was being threatened with fire.

Kelby and Julia talked a little more and then hung up the phone. Turning to look at Donald she started laughing at the way he was looking at her, patting her belly saying "now you two don't want to be like you cousin Donald. No, you will have to remember everything you say and do reflects on the businesses that you both will be taking over, okay momma loves you babies" with that smile Donald knew he really was in deep, deep trouble with her now.
