Cera knocked on the door, finding Marleena deep in thought being startled out of it "come on in"
"I brought the information you asked for on who the construction team was and what they cost us that we figured into the whole project of the Princess Tower hotel. It looks like it was your brother in law, Treyce Polymire of the Polymire construction company. He has been bidding a lot here on all of our projects and under cutting cost for all of them with the help of Maggie who has given him the go ahead for that." Cera said with bitterness in her voice, it was a known thing that Cera and Maggie had a conflict over Treyce when he was going with Cera and she walked in on him and Maggie in bed, causing her to break up with Treyce and Maggie enduring the scandal and having to marry him in a weeks time.
"Well, from now on I will be going to all of these auctions over the projects and ensuring that he does not get anymore of the projects that I have here for the company. I will be sending this information on to Kelby for her to handle when she gets here." Marleena was surprised when she got a notification from Kelby, saying that she would be arriving to Cobble soon within the next two days.
Kelby was packing her travel bags that would be for a couple of weeks to stay in Cobbles Ohio to investigate the collapsed elevator of the Princess Tower hotel and give a report to the building commission there in Ohio, along with her plans to refurbish the elevator for safety and for a new lift set on the shaft that collapsed. Her cousin Donald Rogenis had offered her a place to stay while she was investigating the Princess Tower accident while offering her the opportunity to build a new computer lab store there in Mister, Oklahoma.
as Kelby was finished packing Ethan Callsburg-Dakster reached out and took her hand "this is the first time in over a year that you have traveled out of this area. I want you to be careful, Okay"
"I will. This is an investigation with the prospect of refurbishing the elevator shaft that is in the Princess Tower Hotel. As well as expanding the Neiah Construction company. Maybe I can get some bids in to build a project for here and offer good to the people who are worth it." Kelby said as she reached up to kiss Ethan on the cheek.
"I just want you to be extra careful as I know you haven't been feeling well this past two months." with concern in his voice "maybe I need to call your cousin and let him know as well so he can contact me if something happens to you there."
"Awe I will be fine I will call you every evening when I'm not working okay?" Kelby said reassuringly. "Okay I have to be at the airport in forty five minutes to check in mm"
Reluctantly letting go of Kelby to take her bags to the car Ethan was driving her to the airport feeling lonesome even before she leaves. "this is going to be a tough two weeks for me and your dad here. so eat plenty and stay hydrated as well as warm in the evening as it is cooler there than here." He told her as they arrived at the airport.
"I will and you remember the same except stay cool and don't get over heated. Be sure that dad eats as well Okay?" Kelby said as she gave him a kiss. She was feeling nostalgia as she boarded the plane to leave for Cobbles Ohio.
Donald was waiting for Kelby to arrive at the airport, He hadn't seen her since the Christmas proposal from the Callsburg-Dakster. He saw what he thought was Kelby and decided to call her cell and got through immediately and she turned around and was greeted with a bear hug from Donald asking "well are there any little feet yet"
"No why do you ask that anyway, you are so much like my dad." Kelby blurted out laughingly.
"I guess its time to get to work tomorrow then isn't it. I have some things to ask if you are willing to stay longer than the two weeks you have available. I would like for your company to work with me on a project I have in place in Mister Oklahoma If you are interested?" Donald enquired quizzically looking for Kelby's reaction.
"Maybe after I get through with the investigation of the Princess Tower Hotel. that is with the Sharm's Conglomerate Enterprises and reporting to the Business bureau of Ohio about what actually caused the accident with the elevators there." Kelby said looking doubtful. Kelby pulled out her phone and texted Ethan "I have made it and Donald was here to pick me up and now we are heading to his parents house which is where I'll be staying for the two weeks." "Okay Love you" was the reply Ethan sent in responds to hers.
Marleena had gone to the office early that morning to check her email for Kelby's reply which she found and opened it up. "I will be there on Friday of this week. I will inspect the elevator shafts as there is a board hearing for the construction company involved and they will need the reports by ten o'clock for a hearing. I will see you around one P.M. in the afternoon to get a better idea of how to help you, sincerely Kelby Neiah CEO of Neiah Construction Company" upon seeing the reply from Kelby, she knew that she had made the right choice.
Friday morning bright and early the weather was cooler than Oklahoma weather which was extremely warm for this time of year, Kelby had worn her long sleeve sweater that she always wears on the construction site and requested the Donald go with her to see the elevator shafts and help her to inspect the area around it as he was also familiar with construction of buildings. She had taken along a form to fill out to explain why the failed elevator plunged to the basement area and the damage of what was not in place at the time of the accident. Seeing that this was no accident it was pure negligence that there was no safety cables in place that were dangling nor on top of the broken elevator at the bottom of the shaft. she took pictures looking up with closeup of the top of the elevator as well as the shaft looking below at the broken elevator box with no pulleys in place to keep it stable. upon approaching the basement landing Kelby noticed that there was no extra space to adjust the cables that would be pulling up or down and pulleys with safety stops were not in place. the cost of repairing the whole elevator shaft would be approximately one hundred fifty million dollars not to mention that the stair well would need to be replaced as well to accommodate the new shaft for the elevator.
