(Fix it fic 😍 it's their first few weeks of the semester yippe what could go wrong <3)
"Hellooo," Hana impatiently knocked on the bathroom door, hearing clutter on the other side. "Are you done yet? Everyone's went ahead downstairs already!"Arlo had cooped himself up in there for far too long. Hana didn't want to leave without him, but it had been nearly an hour. Everyone else had gone ahead and he could hear them having fun from outside from his window, and he didn't wanna miss out.
After a moment of silence Arlo spoke up. "Uh... yeah. One minute."
Hana groaned, then heard a knock at the door.
He rushed over and opened it, and it was Daiya. She was already dressed up, wearing a white button-down and a floral garment over it with a flowing skirt that reached above her knees. Her hair was up in ribbons and she had done her makeup in fiery orange and pink hues to match the patterns on her clothes. Whenever there was an opportunity to choose their own outfits, Daiya went all out.
"Woah," her eyes widened, taking in his appearance. "I knew you didn't have a sense of fashion, but I didn't know it was THIS bad."
Hana's mouth gaped open, offended. "A hello would've sufficed too, y'know, Aiya."
She shrugged, letting herself in. "Seriously, you can't be trusted to pick your own outfits." She held her bag out, rummaging through it. "I suspected I'd need this. Here, put these on. I don't wanna be seen with a barbarian." she handed him some new clothes and a pair of earrings. He took them, not entirely happy.
"What's wrong with what I'm wearing?" He pouted, looking down at his outfit. He wore a striped blue and white button-down and shorts, paired with his usual shoes. Daiya scrunched up her face, not answering his question.
"Where's Charmaine?" she asked, looking around. "Don't tell me you've scared him off already."
Hana crossed his arms. "Very funny, and he's locked himself in the bathroom. I don't think he's coming out anytime soon."
"Well, too bad for him," Daiya banged her knuckles against the door. "Open up, Sundari, time to come out of hibernation." she ordered.
For a good moment it was silent, then the door clicked and slid open. Arlo was still dressed in his pajamas and his hair was out and a mess. He looked tired.
Daiya's face dropped. "Oh. Why haven't you changed?"
"I... uh. I can't go." he answered, looking down at his hands, then at the two of them.
"What?" Hana tilted his head, confused. "Why not?"
"It's... it's too much. There's too many people..." he mumbled. "I can't. It's not a good idea."
Daiya and Hana shared a look, and Daiya sighed.
"C'mon, it'll be fun. You'll be with us the whole time," she offered. "You can even hold my hand if it'll make you feel better."
"Really?" he looked up, toying with a lock of his hair.
"Yeah, sure," she waved her hand, then brought her bag onto the bathroom counter. "But first, we need to fix all this."
"All what?"
"This." she gestured to his entire self.
Hana leaned against the doorframe, watching as she rummaged through her bag and pulled out a few accessories, then went to his bedroom to look through his clothes. Arlo stood quietly, toying with the ends of his hair nervously.
Daiya returned a few minutes later. "You don't have a lot of nice clothes to choose from," she handed him an outfit, and he gave her a quizzical look. "I have nice clothes."
