(Sera lore 😨⁉️ idk all I can say is nobody is put in near death situations here)
The morning bell rung, signaling the beginning of the day. Sera had been awake for awhile now, staring at the ceiling, but the loud chiming pierced his ears and sent him out of his trance. He'd almost forgotten he wasn't in his and Pauluma's dorm.
As he slowly sat up, messy and unhandled hair cascading down his shoulders, he looked down to his left to see Finis happily asleep next to him. It was strange. Sometimes he thought Finis could sleep through anything, or maybe he'd learnt to tune out the loud noises of the city over time.
Sera looked over the edge of the bed and grabbed his bag, rummaging through it to make sure he had everything. After his first few classes, he was free for the rest of the day, but he still had one thing to do.
Sera gently tapped Finis' back, who groaned and buried his face in the sheets.
"Five more minutes," his voice was muffled as he spoke, lazily reaching with one hand for the other boy. "Please."
"I'll be late, Finis." Sera uncomfortably pulled his arm away, giving him some space to get up.
Finis sighed and opened his eyes, taking in his sight with a look in his eyes Sera couldn't describe. Some kind of strange fondness.
"Yeah, yeah, I know." he sat up, his head almost hitting the headboard, and stretched his arms, yawning. "You're always in such a hurry to do the next thing. Am I just something you check off your list?" he joked, though his tone said otherwise.
Sera furrowed his brows, feeling something else he couldn't quite pinpoint. "I'm not sure what you mean," he began. "but I have somewhere to be."
Finis smiled sadly and nodded, "Alright, let's go." he leant forward and gently caressed the side of his face, bring his hand down and resting it close to his chest. It was only then Sera remembered he was practically half naked and jerked his hand away, face slightly warm.
"Ah, right," Finis looked to the side, unbothered. "Sorry."
Sera didn't answer, only got up from the bed and started putting his clothes on. Finis did the same, and once he was ready, he put his hands behind his back and watched Sera intently.
"So, uh, what's today's plans?" he asked.
"I have to meet my parents at the training grounds," Sera replied, his hands going to his tie and trying to tie it. His fingers were clumsy and fidgety, and the knot wasn't quite right. Finis came over and took it in his own hands. He tied it effortlessly, taking a moment to appreciate the fact that they were so close, and looked up at him.
"Are you leaving right now?" Finis was still smiling, but his eyes gave away his disappointment.
"Yes," he nodded, not meeting his gaze. "I still have classes in the morning."
Finis hummed, his eyes moving back down to his tie. "That's alright," he said, not sounding too sure. He looked like he was contemplating something before opening his mouth. "Can I talk to you about something?"
Sera paused for a moment. "Yes, of course."
Finis took a second before speaking again, his words coming out slowly, calculated. "So, I was thinking..."
The other boy stayed silent, urging him to continue.
"About us," Finis took his hands and brought them together, lacing his fingers with his own. "I wanna be more than... friends. Whatever this is." he chuckled, "It's kind of complicated."
