28: Mira's past

"Hyung, where are we going?" Jungkook asked as Hojin was flying carrying him.

"To see if we can dig up some truths" Hojin said.

"About what?" Jungkook asked.

But Hojin was quiet. He flew with full focus.

Jungkook was staring at his beak. Out of curiosity, he touched his beak.

"DON'T" Hojin shook his head and gave him a small peck on his hand. "That might distract me and might end up dropping you" Hojin said.

They finally arrived at a place covered with trees. Hojin knocked at the door.

"This seems familiar..." Jungkook was observing his surroundings.

"It's Mira Nymph's place." Hojin said.

A nineteen year old satyr opened the door. "Yes?" He said. "Who are you?"

"I'm Hojin, the Prince of birds, who are you?"

The boy eyed him suspiciously. "I'm the youngest son of the house"

"LITTLE BABY HEESUNG!" Ho-jin exclaimed.

"I'm not a baby" Heesung said.

"Look at you all grown up!" Ho-jin said. "Where's your mom?"

"She's inside" Heesung said.

"Who's it?" Mira said as she came. "HOJIN! How are you?" She said as Hojin entered, Jungkook following closely behind. "JUNGKOOK! You too!!" Mira smiled at Jungkook.

"Sit down! How have you guys been?" She said, her focus going to Jungkook.

"You remember... Jungkook?" Hojin asked.

"Yeah, he came with you one time to drop Heesung when he was stuck on a tree" she said.

"I was what?" Heesung asked.

"Ooh when you were little you climbed up a tree and couldn't climb down so Ho-jin rescued you" Mira said.

"Mira nim, you have good memory to remember someone you met only once that too many years ago" Ho-jin said.

"I... I just have a g...good memory" Mira said "I clearly remember you came with him and introduced him as your then boyfriend Jungkook."

"You do? But you used to keep forgetting our names back there at the camp"

"Well... I just..."

"Milkshakes?" Heesung came holding a tray of milkshakes.

"You just what?" Hojin asked, taking a glass. Mira started tearing up, she kept glancing at Jungkook. "Why are you looking at Jungkook."

"I was j-just... Checking out his locket" Mira said. Jungkook looked at his locket and took it in his hand.

"Mira nim. You don't remember Jungkook just because you have a sharp memory right?" Hojin asked. Mira was just looking around nervously. "I don't think you need a really sharp memory to remember your son, right?"

Jungkook's locket fell from his hand. He bent down to pick it up but Mira was quicker. She picked it up with shivering hands and handed it to Jungkook. Jungkook held it and glanced at Mira.

"Mira nim, please tell me the truth. The rumours, about you having an illegitimate kid with a human, true?" Hojin asked.

Mira started crying. She nodded her head.

"And that kid is..." Hojin looked at Jungkook.

Mira nodded. "I'm so sorry Jungkook! I really am! I had no choice!!" She cried.
