Hello, Yellow Fellow
Chapter 5: Yellow Pervert

The whole ride was just silence, only the soft music playing in the background. Walang umimik. Nothing, not even a small talk, broke the silence.

After our brief eye contact earlier, I made sure not to look at his direction again, instead I focused on the view outside. I let myself get lost in the sight of streetlights flashing by, pero ang totoo, my head was still puzzled by what happened earlier.

Bakit niya ako ihahatid papunta sa condo? Did I really look that pitiful standing outside kanina? Naawa rin ba siya sa akin? Gosh.

Ilang sandali pa, we arrived at my condo building. I got out of the car immediately.

I watched him silently as he started pulling out the paper bags from the backseat. Dapat ako ang gumagawa nito, pero nag-insist siya. Feeling ko tuloy, Princess treatment ang peg ko dito. Well, bagay rin naman sa akin. And baka ginagawa niya lang din 'to cause he felt bad the last time?

"Next time na mag-shopping ka ng ganito karami, magpasama ka," he said seriously habang binubuhat ang mga paper bags.

He looked genuinely concerned by the sheer amount of bags. Or am I just assuming things?

"Kasama ko kanina bestfriend ko, but then tinawagan kaya nauna na siya," I explained. Wait, why am I even explaining this to him?

"Palitan mo na 'yang bestfriend mo," he replied with a smirk.

I rolled my eyes and tried to keep my cool. Kung hindi lang dahil sa parang may utang na loob ako sa kanya, pinatulan ko na sana ang pagiging pilosopo niya. And speaking of utang na loob, kanina pa ako naguguluhan, bakit nga ba ako hinatid ng lalaking 'to?

"Why?" I asked.

"Ano?" he replied, clearly not getting it. He looked at me, feigning innocence.

"Bakit mo naisipang ihatid ako?" I asked again, more directly this time.

"At bakit hindi?" he shot back with a shrug, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Wala talagang kwenta kausap, nagtatanong ng maayos tapos sasagutin kang pabalang. Obviously, this conversation was going nowhere.  Nag-ayos siya ng mga huling paper bags from his car and put them on the pile next to me. He looked at me and grinned.

"You owe me one."

Napalunok ako sa sinabi niya. Akala ko ba it was out of concern? And, in the first place, hindi ko naman siya inutusan na ihatid ako, di ba?

"Bayaran na lang kita sa paghatid mo," I said, reaching for my wallet.

"Pwede mo akong bayaran, pero hindi pera, marami na ako n'yan eh," he grinned, clearly enjoying this.

What the hell does he want then? Wala naman akong ibang ma-ooffer bukod sa pera.

"Then what do you want?" I asked, irritation creeping into my voice.

He pulled out his phone and handed it to me. "Give me your number," he said simply.

Textmate pa ata ang gusto.

"Why would I give it to you?" I replied, still trying to sound tough.

"Cause you owe me one, maybe twice the next time," he smirked again. Ang kapal talaga.

"And why would that even happen?" I rolled my eyes. He's a scammer, and I'm the fool he's trying to scam.

"Cause you might need a ride home again," he said, mimicking a phone with his hand.
