Chapter 10: Butterflies

"Wait, this angle is perfect, Riri," I instructed while adjusting the camera, focusing on the lower right angle of his face.

Rio lowered his gaze slightly, then faced the camera. Once I saw the angle was just right, I quickly pressed the shutter. He struck a few more poses, and I couldn't help but giggle when the shots came out stunningly beautiful.

"Perfect! Very high-fashion vibe ang atake mo, Riri," I said, showing him the shots.

"Omg... these photos are godly! I bet some brands will come scouting me as their model now," Rio gushed, covering his mouth with one hand, clearly mesmerized by the shots.

"Alam na alam mo talaga angles ko, Eli," he added, still checking out the photos with a proud smile.

"Of course! Ilang years ka na nagpapasolo shoot sa akin, sa susunod, maniningil na talaga ako," pagbibiro ko, at nagtawanan kami sabay high-five.

We were in the middle of his photoshoot at my mini studio in my condo. This shoot was supposed to happen a month ago, but Rio got so busy that we couldn't fit it into his schedules. His dad's been bugging him a lot recently, but we finally found some time. He even added a few more requests, which was fine with me since pandagdag ko na rin sa portfolio ko. Mahirap din kaya maghanap ng model na game na game sa iba't-ibang concept at angles.

"I'm going to change into my next outfit, Eli," pagpapaalam ni Rio sabay lakad papunta sa dressing room. I simply nodded and walked over to the table to grab my phone, which had been vibrating for a while.

Yellow Pervert. 16 missed calls.

I rolled my eyes. He just had to be the one calling incessantly during my shoot with Rio. My phone was about to die from all the vibrations and notifications. Nagpaalam na nga ako kahapon na may shoot kami ni Rio today, but he was persistent. I opened some of his texts.

Yellow Pervert:

Hey, where are you?

Heeyyy, answer my call.

Where are youuu?

Can't you just answer my call?

You can make time for others, but no for me?

The load is expensive and you're not answering me. :(

You don't have a conscience?

Look oh, I'm sad na. :(

Susuntukin ko na talaga yang Rio. :(

I laughed when I read his latest message. He didn't know that Rio was gay, which explained his reaction. Umayaw pa nga noong una pero sinamaan ko lang siya ng tingin kaya hindi naman siya umimik, ngayon na lang ulit.

It's been two weeks since that incident happened, and so far, I'm healing and getting better. Since that day, hindi na rin tumigil si Maki sa kakakulit sa akin, na minsan ikinakainis ko na rin. 

He even calls at 6 am, which is still my sleeping time, but I end up getting up since he orders breakfast for me through FoodPanda, so I have to go down and get the food he sends. He's also been visiting my condo more frequently just to check on me, but he never stays long. It's like he just wants to make sure I'm okay. At syempre, hindi pa rin nawawala 'yong pang-iinis niya sa akin. Hindi ata kumpleto ang araw niya na hindi kami nagbabangayan. Gosh.

I find it a bit weird sometimes, but I just let him. Maybe he's just really concerned about what happened. Sinabi ko naman na okay na ako and assured him it wouldn't happen again, especially since Nico had been fired and was moving to another country. My Kuya wanted to press charges pa nga, but I insisted not to, since he was drunk at the time.
