Wick without wax

I left the candle burning even after you left.

I foolishly thought you'd come back,

and after all that, no less.

I feel this poems I best kept short. I've been writing so many long poems lately, so a nice change is needed.

The candle means love. One kept the love alive even though the other person had long so fallen out of love and maybe even moved on.

The name Wick without wax is just love without structure. It's like building a house without foundation.

This is longer than the poem itself, but I just wanted everyone to be able to understand.

Hope you enjoyed :)
