Keep the world sane

Sing a song to keep us sane in a time when the world has fallen into craze.

You can never save us, but you can always ease the pain.

Sing us a melody of forgotten fantasies.

You can only watch hopelessly as we slowly disingrate.

Sing the tune of freedom and peace when there is nothing but battle and war on the planet we inhabitate.

You kept us together for as long as your voice hummed a lullaby, that was until the worlds end met our eventual mortality.

Sing for just a little while longer.

You make reality fade into a fairy tale where things would last an eternity if only they bring beauty and love to all of our hearts.

Sing even if we're all slowly dying with the time only going by more fleetingly than it did yesterday,  or was that a few years back?

You mumble the last tune as the world collides with the walls around us, and the bomb explodes after dropping many miles from the heavens above.

Sing goodbye even if you're deader then you were the last time you sang your song for us.

Inspired by the song Exit Music (For A Film) by Radiohead.

I was listening to an old band and started researching more about them and found out they had some DISGUSTING allegations against them, and I'm so pissed and angry at their behavior and saddened for the victims. I'm not naming the band because I don't want anyone searching them up. They're not super popular, although they are pretty known in their gerne and subculture. They're not really known outside of that, so it's best just to let them fade away and hopefully be forgotten.

Finding out about the controversy of the band made me think of the world's end for some reason. Hence why I wrote this poem as I was listening to the song that inspired the first few lines.
