Sometimes, people tease Cyra and Adiel. Paanong hindi aasarin, e, talagang sa bawat pagkakataon, pinipili nila ang isa't isa Well, siguro mas accurate sabihing palaging pinipili ni Adiel si Cyra. Paminsan-minsan naman kasi ay humihiwalay si Cyra para makasama ang mga kaibigang babae. Kaya, naaasar silang dalawa na may namamagitan sa kanila.
But was there really? Today might just be the day their friends would confirm their hunches.
During graduation practice, Adiel and Cyra always ate out afterward. Sometimes with other friends, sometimes by themselves. But today, it was just the two of them. Afterward, they would go to Cyra's house to watch a new series they had found recently.
Their friends didn't join them because they planned on spying. Kating-kati na ang mga kaibigan nilang malaman kung mag-boyfriend-girlfriend nga ba ang dalawa o hibang lang sila.
Limang kaibigan nina Adiel at Cyra ang nagsama-sama para bumuntot sa dalawa. Three were looking at whom they were spying on and the remaining were busy eating. The two girls were Delphine and Gwyneth. The three boys were Dory, Francis, and Khian
"Huwag kayo masiyadong tumitig, baka mahalata tayo!" asik ni Delphine.
"Oo nga, baka mapansin na nila tayo," segunda ni Francis.
"OA n'yo, 'di tayo mapapansin, dami-daming tao rito," balik ni Khian.
The bunch was in the same place where Adiel and Cyra were. Kumakain din sila ng tanghalian. The place was a staple in their school since it was one of the nearby fast-food restos. At, tama si Khian, napakaraming tao ngayon sa kainan at marami ring mga estudyante, hindi nga naman sila mapapansin ng pinagmamatiyagan nila.
Iyon ang akala nila.
"Ano? Are they holding hands?" Gwyneth asked.
"I don't think so. 'Di ko makita nang maayos, may nakaharang na ulo, e!" sagot ni Dory.
"Francis, ikaw tumingin, ikaw nasa dulo, makikita mo 'yan," utos ni Khian.
"Ayaw ko nga, mamaya magtama pa mga mata namin," ani Francis.
Umirap si Gwyneth. "Ba't ka ba sumama here?"
Hindi sumagot si Francis, nagpatuloy lang sa pagkain ng kanin at chicken niyang in-order kanina. The rest quietly stared at their prey, aka the assumed couple, while eating.
On the clock, it was 12:42 PM. Inside the eatery, it was almost a babel. Some children were running around. Left and right, voices talked about how shitty the morning had been. The counters were, of course, busy with getting the orders of the customers who were in line. Employees constantly cleaned tables.
"Sa tingin n'yo, sila talaga?" si Delphine.
Tumingin sa kaniya ang dalawang kasama, sina Francis at Khian bago kumain muli.
"Oo, patay na patay 'yang si Adiel kay Cyra, e. Ayaw lang umamin," si Khian.
"Possible, I don't know," ang sagot naman ni Francis.
Gwyneth glanced at Francis. "Ba't ka nga sumama?"
Natawa si Dory at nag-comment, "Why are you so irritated with Francis, Gwyneth? Crush mo ba siya?"
Agad na nanlaki ang mga mata ng batang babae bago nagsabing, "Hindi, ah! Ba't ko magugustuhan 'yan?!"
The three bickered and teased each other until sinaway sila nina Delphine at Khian. Then, the group turned quiet, munching on their food again.
