[The next day, Sheriff Forbes had construction workers pull out the Gilberts' car, all its missing parts, and debris from the water. However, it couldn't be saved, they had to get rid of it, and a few days later, Grayson and Miranda bought a new car. Elena has broken up with Matt and was honest with him that she didn't feel any sparks, chemistry, passion, or magic when they were together. She explained to him that she could only see him as a friend and the last thing she wanted to do was keep leading him on or hurt him. Matt was heartbroken, but he had no choice but to accept her decision, the next day, Elena had cheer camp once again for the entire month. Throughout that time, she was focused, but at the same time, she was always looking at her phone, waiting for a call or text from Damon, which never came. Jeremy kept on doing drugs and his parents were fed up, on August 2nd, the students returned to school]
{In The Gilbert Living Room}
Elena: So what classes do you have?
Victoria: I've got Acting 2, AP English language, Songwriting 101, AP US History, Algebra 2, Physics, and AP Spanish language
Elena: Tell me you get out early this year, last year, you got out at almost 4:30 in the afternoon
Victoria: I get out at 3:21
Elena: I guess that's a little better
Victoria: What do you have?
Elena: Same classes as you except no songwriting or Acting. I get out at 2:18
Victoria: That's another thing I miss
Elena: I would miss that too
(They laughed)
Grayson Gilbert: Alright, guys, let's go or you'll be late
Miranda Gilbert: Jeremy, come on
Jeremy: I'm done, I'm coming
[Grayson, Jeremy, Elena, and Victoria got in the car and he drove them to school. Miranda got to work and Jenna went to meet with her thesis advisor]
{With Elena}
[She met up with Bonnie and Elena noticed her looking behind her, so Elena turned around and saw her ex-boyfriend, Matt, looking at them. Elena lightly waved to him but he closed his locker, walked away, and Elena turned back to Bonnie]
Elena: He hates me
Bonnie: No, he doesn't, That's, "You broke up with me, but I'm too cool to show it"
(Their friend Caroline came up to them)
Caroline: Hey girls
Bonnie: Hi, Care
Elena: Hey, Caroline
Caroline: Are you sure you're okay, Lena?
Elena: Care, you've asked me that a million times, I'm okay, it was just a scare
Caroline: Okay, okay, good, I'll see you both in class
Elena & Bonnie: Yeah
(She walked away and so did Elena and Bonnie)
{With Elena and Bonnie}
(They saw a new student at the front office and his back was turned to them)
Bonnie: I'm sensing L.A. and he plays guitar
Elena: You're really going to stick with the whole psychic thing, huh?
Bonnie: Definitely
(Elena saw Jeremy going into the boys' bathroom)
Elena: Unbelievable, I'll be right back
[She went after him, the new student turned around and not just Bonnie noticed him but Caroline also noticed him]
{With Elena}
[She reprimanded Jeremy for using drugs and started searching him for them, but he just dismissed her, ignored her, and then walked out. Elena sighed and walked out as well]
{Outside the bathroom}
(Elena ran into the new student)
Stefan: Excuse me, is this the guy's bathroom?
Elena: Yeah, sorry
(She walked away)
{In AP US History}
[Stefan was staring at Elena and Bonnie let her know through a text. Elena just shook her head rolling her eyes playfully and kept listening to the class. After school, Elena and Jeremy walked home and Elena started on her homework. Later on, Victoria arrived with her dad and she also started working on her leftover homework. After dinner, the girls go meet up with Caroline and Bonnie at the grill]
{In The Grill}
[Bonnie and Caroline arrived first and Caroline told Bonnie everything she learned between the first and second period of school about the new student aka Stefan Salvatore. After a few minutes, Elena and Victoria arrive and they sit with them. After a few seconds, Stefan also arrives and goes up to the girls]
Stefan: Hi, uh, the place is full, may I sit?
Caroline: Of course
(Stefan sits down)
Stefan: Are you two-
Elena: Twins? Yeah
Victoria: We're fraternal twins, I'm Victoria but everyone calls me Tori, this is Elena
Elena: Hi, this is Bonnie and Caroline
Stefan: It's nice to meet you, guys, what can I call you for short, Elena?
Elena: Uh, no offense, but only TJ or the girls can call me by my nickname, Lena, and only TJ can call me EJ
Stefan: None taken, this is your first day meeting me, it's completely understandable, I'm a stranger
Caroline: So, you were born here?
Stefan: Yep, but we were always moving
Caroline: And your parents?
Stefan: They passed away
Elena: Wow, I'm sorry
Stefan: Thank you
Victoria: Do you have any siblings?
Stefan: None that I talk to, I live with my uncle Zach
Caroline: Stefan, since you're new then that means you don't know about tomorrow's party at the falls
Bonnie: It's a back-to-school thing
(Stefan turned to Elena)
Stefan: Are you going?
Elena: Maybe
Bonnie: Of course, she is
Elena: I said maybe
Victoria: She's helping me and my friend, Andre after school so we can rehearse
Stefan: You don't go to our school?
Victoria: No, I go to Briarwood Academy, I'm under this program called Hollywood Arts. A new principal took the place of our old principal, Mr.Eichner
Stefan: Oh, how come?
Victoria: He fell in love with a Tahitian woman and moved to Tahiti to be with her and her people. The new principal is making everyone in the Hollywood Arts program reaudition
Stefan: Ah
Elena: Are you nervous?
Victoria: Yeah, I am, I don't want to lose my place, I really like being part of that program, and I don't want to leave the school
Elena: You won't, you are so talented, the new principal would be crazy to not give you your spot back, whatever her name is
Victoria: Helen Dubois
Elena: Who cares? You two are going to rock that reaudition, you'll see
Victoria: Thanks, sis
Elena: Always, we actually have to get going, guys
Bonnie: You guys want a ride?
Victoria: Please
Bonnie: No problem, get Jeremy
Stefan: I should get going too
Caroline: Aww, you can't stay a little more?
Stefan: No, uh, my uncle gives me a curfew
Caroline: Too bad
[Elena and Victoria got Jeremy who was trying to talk to Matt's older sister, Vicktoria, again. Bonnie took them home, Stefan left, and Caroline left after a little while]
