The weekend
[Bonnie told Elena and Victoria about the coffins and the new dream that she kept having, and then she told them and Stefan that maybe her mom could help them open up the coffin. The girls asked Miranda if she knew where they could find Abigail Bennet. However, she said no because they had lost contact a long time ago. The girls started searching for a lot of Abigail Bennets in the country thanks to Sheriff Forbes' help, and Damon arrived with the lucky paper]
{In The Gilbert Home}
Damon: Abigail Bennett, Monroe, North Carolina, born in Mystic Falls Hospital, graduated Mystic Falls High School, blah, blah blah
(He gave the papers to Bonnie)
Damon: A little compulsion speeds up the research process
Bonnie: This is her
Damon: Yep, road trip, I call shotgun
Elena: Yeah, no
Damon: You want me to hang out in the back with you?
(He smirked making Elena blush and she cleared her throat)
Elena: You're not coming, Damon
Damon: Why? I'm the one who found her
Elena: Look, Damon, Bonnie hasn't seen her mom in over fifteen years. We don't need your snarky commentary narrating the experience
[He stepped in front of her, gave her a fake pout, and then smirked at her making her blush again]
Bonnie: What's going on with you two?
Damon: We kissed, and now it's awkward, have a great trip
(He walked out)
Victoria: Wait, what?!
Elena: Let's uh, let's get going
[They got in Bonnie's car, Tyler went to Caroline's home to explain what happened, and that he called her dad, so he could help him resist the sirebond]
{With Bonnie, Victoria, and Elena}
Bonnie: I just can't believe I'm going to see her or meet her, since I don't really remember her
Victoria: You don't really talk about her
Bonnie: What's to say? She left, never wrote, and she never called either. Not even when my grams died, just divorced my dad, can we change the subject? Elena, you and Damon
Elena: I am so not talking about that
(She saw the looks on Victoria's and Bonnie's faces)
Elena: He kissed me, it's not gonna happen again
Victoria: Yeah, right
Elena: TJ
Victoria: What?
Bonnie: I mean, was it good?
Elena: Doesn't matter
Bonnie: That means it was
Victoria: It totally was, did you kiss back?
(Elena smiled)
Bonnie: That smile means she did
Victoria: For sure
Elena: Okay, enough
Victoria: Nah, details, now
Elena: Okay, fine, yes I kissed him back, and yes it was good, really good, like amazingly good. I felt so much magic, sparks, chemistry, fire, and hot, smoldering, and bubbling lava running through my veins and my entire body
Bonnie & Victoria: Oooh
(Elena laughed)
Elena: Stop it, if we're being honest, I've wanted to do that for so long
Victoria: Oh, we know
Bonnie: Definitely
Elena: When Stefan and I technically broke up, I felt a weight off of my shoulders, does that make me a bad person?
Victoria: No, of course, not, sis, but I told you that the famous saying, "A nail gets another nail out" doesn't always work out
Elena: I know, you were right, you are right, it's always been Damon and it'll always be him
[Stefan called Bonnie and Elena took her phone to tell him that they were going to go to the lake house. She wasn't going to let Stefan ruin the moment for Bonnie and her mom, Stefan knew that she was lying because they had left the address on the table, and they hung up thinking that they had gotten away with it. Damon told Alaric about the murder of the medical examiner, and Damon found out that Meredith was Brian Walter's ex-girlfriend, so he went to Mystic Falls Hospital to visit her. One of Klaus' hybrids compelled Abigail and the young man who was there with her named Jamie. Elena, Victoria, and Bonnie met Jamie and discovered that he wasn't Abigail's son, but that she took him in after she and his deadbeat father broke up, and she put Jamie through high school. Abigail explained why she left, Stefan arrived, which took Victoria and Elena by surprise, and Stefan tried to compel Jamie to leave Elena and Victoria alone with him and for him to go upstairs. However, he didn't listen to him and shot Stefan with wooden bullets, and then tied Elena and Victoria up. Abigail made Bonnie pass out with some herbs, kidnapped her, and Jamie told them why he was doing what he was doing. Damon went to Alaric's apartment and told him what had happened. Tyler was able to transform but the chains didn't hold, he ended up attacking Bill, and Caroline called for an ambulance. At night, Abigail went to meet with that same hybrid and told Bonnie to warn her friends through text, and asked her to tell her where the coffins were. Later on, Damon took the locked coffin, hit it, and then returned to the witches' house but Klaus had arrived]

[Damon left and Alaric went to confront Meredith, and she told him her secret. Elena and Victoria untied themselves, Elena took Jamie's gun and hit him with it making Jamie pass out. Elena and Victoria ran to Stefan and they both worked on getting the wood bullets out of his chest. Stefan acknowledged that Elena had changed and had become braver and stronger making Victoria smile proudly at her sister. Elena confessed to Stefan that she had kissed Damon not because she felt guilty that it had happened, but because she felt guilty that he didn't know. He stood up and walked away and Elena walked after him]
{With Elena and Stefan}
Elena: Stefan, say something, please
Stefan: I shouldn't have kidnapped you, the car, the bridge, it was too far
Elena: Thank you
Stefan: But you shouldn't have lied to me today, you and Tori can't go off and do things like that, Elena, not while Klaus is still alive
Elena: We know, we just...we just wanted to give Bonnie a moment with her mother without everything else getting in the way
Stefan: Without me getting in the way
Elena: I didn't plan on kissing him
Stefan: You're better than him, you're better than both of us, you and Tori both are. Was today the only day that it happened? Be honest with me
Elena: No
[She explained what happened the day that Katherine went to visit Damon for the first time again, and what had happened between her and Damon afterwards. Stefan walked away and Elena and Victoria went home in Bonnie's car after she finished talking to her mother]
{In The Salvatore Boarding House}
