[Early in the morning Katherine visited Caroline and made her a spy against Stefan and Elena. Stefan captured Katherine later during the day with vervain and started questioning her. She confessed everything to him and Damon was determined to prove that Mason Lockwood was a vampire. He got what he wanted and even though Mason told him that he wasn't his enemy, Damon still stabbed Mason with a silver kitchen knife after the Gilbert barbecue. Mason told him that he had gained an enemy and all day, Caroline had been trying to poke holes in Elena's and Stefan's relationship. The next day
[The Historical Society Volunteer Picnic Day had arrived and everyone was at the new public park. Stefan tried to make a truce with Mason Lockwood and he thought it had worked, but things weren't as they seemed. Mason told Sheriff Forbes that Damon and Stefan were vampires, she refused to believe it, but then Mason offered to prove it to her. When one of the young girls offered Damon some lemonade, he took it and thanked her. However, Damon had to spit it out on the ground because there was vervain in it and she found out the truth. Tyler invited his classmates, Aimee and Sarah to party and drink at his house alongside Jeremy and Annabelle, and they agreed]
{With Elena and Caroline}
(Caroline was ranting about her mom)
Caroline: So, anything new with Stefan and you?
Elena: No, not since yesterday's argument, Caroline, be honest with me, why were you acting like that yesterday, I know you, and it can't be all because of Matt. Trust me, please, you're one of my best friends, talk to me
(Caroline sighed)
Caroline: I didn't act like a good friend, yesterday, Elena...Wait, where's my mom going? Something's up, more than usual, c'mon
{With Stefan and Damon}
[They both decided to kill Mason and when they went after him, Sheriff Forbes and two other deputies captured them]

[Sheriff Forbes dropped her gun, Elena ran to Damon and started taking out the bullets making him groan in pain]
Elena: Shh, Shh, Shh, it's gonna be okay
Sheriff Elizabeth Forbes: No, No, No
(She sat down then Elena went over to help Stefan and took out all the bullets)

(Elena helped Stefan up)
Elena: Damon, take Liz to the boarding house, Caroline, Stefan, and I will clean this up, and I'll get TJ to help
Damon: Fine
[Damon sped away with Sheriff Forbes, Elena got Victoria to help, and once Stefan was all better, they buried the bodies. Elena and Victoria notified their parents and they all agreed that they needed to come clean]
{In The Lockwood Mansion}
[The group was partying and Sarah tried to flirt with Jeremy but Annabelle gave her the evil eye, which made her back up. Sarah had grabbed the moonstone, and Tyler was trying to get it back, he snatched it from her, and Sarah fell down the stairs. Everyone ran to her to make sure she was okay and she woke up with no injuries, Tyler put the moonstone away, and the group kept on partying]
{With the others}
[Elena and Victoria made their way over to the boarding house, Stefan got some animal blood until he felt better, and Caroline arrived a while later because she was gathering things for her mom]
{In The Boarding House}
[Damon got Sheriff Forbes a bed ready in the cellar and he made her call Carol to tell her she was sick. Sheriff Forbes asked Damon to keep Caroline away from her without knowing that she was listening]
Damon: She's your daughter, Liz
Sheriff Forbes: Not anymore, my daughter's gone
Damon: You have no idea how wrong you are about that
[Caroline dropped the suitcase quietly and raced up to the living room. Elena, Victoria, and Stefan started to go after her but then Stefan stopped, went to the blood cooler, opened it, and held a bag in his hand]
Elena: Stefan?
Stefan: Katherine took a little vervain every day and built up a tolerance for it. I could do the same with human blood and learn to control myself on it
Victoria: But the last time that you drank human blood, it went so wrong
Stefan: I have to try, I almost died tonight, this is the only way to stop Katherine
Elena: Let's go check on Caroline
(Victoria and Elena raced upstairs and sat across her)
{In the living room}
Victoria: Let's get you home, Care
Caroline: I don't want to go home, I can't
Elena: Why not?
Caroline: Because I'm scared
Victoria: Why are you scared?
Caroline: because Katherine's going to be there and she's going to want me to report everything that happened to her today
Elena: I had a feeling that was it and I was upset with you because Stefan has been a good friend to you, but then I put myself in your shoes, and I have a feeling that she threatened someone
Caroline: Yeah
Victoria: Who did she threaten?
Caroline: Matt and I'm so scared of her, girls
Elena: And you should be, we all should he
Caroline: Why is she doing this? What does she want?
Victoria: We wish we knew
[They all group hugged and Caroline settled on the sofa to go to sleep. Elena covered her with a blanket, and that's when Damon came up, and the three of them went to sit down on the dining room table]
Elena: Caroline's sleeping on the couch
Damon: I heard
Victoria: So what the hell happened today?
(Damon told then what happened last night and what occurred today)
Elena: You idiot
Damon: What I'd do? He's the one that outed us
Elena: Because you stabbed him after he tried to make peace with you. You let your impulsiveness get to you, again, and I want our grandma's knife back
Damon: I washed and polished it and put it back yesterday
Elena: Good
Victoria: Today wouldn't have happened if you hadn't stabbed Mason. We don't have to kill him
Damon: Yes, we do, he's a liability
Victoria: Because you made him one, listen, I have an idea, we could question him to see what he knows
Damon: What makes you think that he'll tell us anything? And what makes you think he knows anything?
Victoria: I don't know but it's worth a try, besides, we know he's a werewolf and Stefan said that Katherine told him that the werewolf gene runs in the Lockwoods, which means that Tyler might be one too. What if we can get Mason over to our side? Can you imagine the team that we could have? Just picture it for one second, we've got our parents and Alaric who are vampire hunters, we've got four vampires, you, Stefan, Anna, and Caroline, and we've got Bonnie, who is a powerful witch, so can you imagine if we had Mason on our side? That would be three vampire hunters, four vampires, a witch, and a werewolf
Elena: You know, she does make a good point, Damon
Damon: He'll never agree to come over to our side
Victoria: Then we make him, let's capture him and try to question him, and I am completely against this, but if we need to use a little persuasion, then we use it
Damon: And by that, you mean torture
Victoria: Only if it's our last resort, Damon
Damon: Fine
Victoria: And I'll be at the boarding house when you do capture him so you won't do any stupid shit
Damon: Whatever
(He looked at Elena)
Damon: Today's fight only reassured the fact that Stefan needs human blood, he can't get stronger on animal blood. A little every day will help him get control
Elena: I know
Damon: I'll keep him in check, we all will
Elena: Yeah, we will, time to go home
Victoria: Let's go, I'm tired
(Both girls said goodbye to Damon and Stefan and then Elena drove them home)
