Chapter 60

[A few days passed and it was now, September 3rd, 2011. It was Remembrance Day at Mystic Falls, it was a holiday to honor the dead. Damon explained it a little more to Stefan, Matt called Jeremy to get his help with what was going on with him, and Elena went to hang out with the brothers. Caroline was studying with Jess, he kissed her, and she got furious at him and then stormed off. Damon got a text making him smile]
{With Delena and Stefan in the Salvatore Family Crypt}
Elena: What? What is it?
Damon: Nothing, I'll be back later
Elena: Where are you going?
Damon: Somewhere
Elena: But-
(Damon left)
Elena: Well then, come with me, let's try to see if we can jog back your memories
[They went to Mystic Falls High School, Elena tried to recreate when they first collided, but it did nothing. She jumped on the roof and had him do the same thing]
{On the roof of Mystic Falls High School}
Stefan: Okay, I've gotta admit, that was uh, that was pretty amazing
Elena: I love doing that
Stefan: So, how'd you become a vampire?
Elena: Why don't I show you? Follow me
[She turned around, made herself fall off the room, and landed on her feet making Stefan smile. He followed her, they got in his van, and Stefan drove to Wickery Bridge following Elena's directions. She told him everything while he was driving, he parked the van, and they got out to see the bridge from afar]
Stefan: This is working, you know
Elena: You're remembering?
Stefan: No, I mean, this, whatever we're doing, the distracting, the sublimating, whatever you wanna call it. The urge to feed has settled, I'm not, uh, hungry anymore
Elena: Good
Stefan: Whatever monster I was capable of being, I can see why I was different around you
Elena: You were never a monster
Stefan: Elena, I saw my reflection in the mirror today, I was scared of me
Elena: I was scared when I found out the truth at first but then that went away
(She put her hands on his shoulders, and when she tried to pull away, he took her hands)
Stefan: Don't
(He leaned in but Elena pulled away quickly)
Elena: Stefan, no
Stefan: What's wrong?
Elena: Look, I want to help you get your memories back but we're friends and...
Stefan: And what?
Elena: And I'm with Damon
Stefan: You're with my brother...and neither of you thought that was something that I should know?
Elena: We weren't, hiding it from you
Stefan: And just like that the hunger returns
Elena: Stefan-
(Stefan zoomed away)
Elena: Stefan, wait!
(She zoomed after him but he was gone and Elena went to search for him)
{With Elena}
(Damon and Victoria walked up but Elena was turned around)
Victoria: EJ!
(She turned around and gasped)
Elena: TJ!
[Victoria started to run to her but Elena zoomed to her. They hugged tightly, jumped, and squealed, and then they laughed]
Victoria: I missed you so much
Elena: I missed you too, why didn't you text us? I thought you guys were still in L.A.
Victoria: I wanted to surprise you all, I had Damon pick me up
Elena: That's who you were texting
Damon: Yup, why? You got jealous?
Elena: Yes
Damon: Where's Stefan? I thought you were with him
Elena: I was, Damon, I told him about you and me, and he rushed off
Damon: Okay, we'll find him
Elena: TJ
Victoria: It's okay, go, I'll go find Mom and Dad
[Delena left and Caroline found him feeding from Jesse, and before he could kill him, she stopped him. Stefan ran off again, Caroline cured Jesse and then made him forget about what he saw. Delena saw Stefan driving off and they followed him back to the Salvatore Boarding House]
{In the living room of the Salvatore Boarding House}
(They rushed in and saw Stefan burning some of his diaries)
Elena: Stefan, let us explain-
Damon: What are you doing there, brother?
Stefan: You know just tying up a few odds and ends
Damon: You sure you wanna do that?
Stefan: Well, I know what I don't want. I don't wanna be the person in these journals anymore. I don't wanna live in this house. I don't want my brother's advice. I don't wanna hear about our relationship, Elena, and I definitely do not want to continue this conversation
(Stefan grabbed his bag)
Elena: Stefan, wait-
Stefan: Don't worry, I'm not gonna go on a ripper binge, besides, Caroline said I could crash at her house, and I actually do trust her
(Stefan stormed away)
Damon: I think we just got dumped
Elena: If only Bonnie was alive and she could do something
Damon: I know
(Elena sighed, sat on one of the couches, and Damon joined her)
<later at night>
[Matt woke up as himself, watched the video he recorded, and then found out the truth about his blackouts. The following day Jesse went to see Wes Maxfield to explain his symptoms, and what happened at the party. Wes Maxfield revealed his thoughts to him, Jesse was confused, and then Wes Maxfield killed him with a single dose of a random disease. Three days passed, Tyler was back, and no one had seen Jesse since the party. That same day the Whitmore Historical costume ball was announced, Elena asked Damon to be her plus one, and, obviously, he accepted. Nadia finally told what she wanted with Katherine, Katherine stabbed Nadia through the stomach and then rushed off. Damon made a new deal with Silas, he accepted it, and then the night arrived]
{At Whitmore House}
[Elena and Damon were dressed as King Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, and after a few dances, Damon told Elena that he would be back. Megan shared with Elena that her friend, Aaron, was an orphan who lost his parents when he was young in a car crash, that he lived with his aunt, and Doctor Wes Maxfield was a friend from his family. Qetziah went up to Stefan and tried to apologize with a drink, but then Damon took him away. When Silas greeted him, Stefan turned around, he was shocked, and then Damon broke Stefan's neck. Silas then went to talk to Qetziah]
{With Qetziah}
[Silas pretended to be Stefan, drank a shot with Qetziah, danced with her, and then revealed himself to her. He asked her where the anchor to the other side was, she told him that she didn't know where it was, and told Silas that she was looking for it too. She told him that the travelers moved it around constantly and that her talisman, which enhanced her powers was in one of the exhibits. Silas sent her to go get it and made her forget their conversation, Stefan woke up, and Damon told him that he was gonna get Bonnie back. He broke Stefan's neck again to keep the plan going, Nadia revealed the truth to Katherine and told her that she was her mother. Later on, at the party, Elena asked Wes Maxfield to dance, he accepted, and then he told her to leave and go back to Mystic Falls because people were asking questions. He left and Elena went to go find Damon. Qetziah had found her amulet, which was the same amulet that Shane had given to Bonnie, she started chanting, Silas arrived, and then they began to converse with one another]
{With Damon}
(Elena went into the room and then Stefan broke Damon's neck making him fall and Elena gasped)
Elena: What are you doing?!
(She rushed to Damon, knelt by him, and placed his head on her lap)
Stefan: He broke my neck first, Elena, twice
Elena: Why would he do that?
Stefan: He said he was gonna get Bonnie back
Elena: W-What? How?
Stefan: All I know is that someone behind me called me his shadow self and when I turned around, he looked exactly like me
Elena: That was Silas, he's your evil doppelganger
Stefan: The next thing I know, my brother breaks my neck
Elena: Damon must have made a deal with him, ugh, Damon, what deal did you make?
(Stefan walked away)
{With Qetziah and Silas}

(His body fell on the ground and Qetziah left)
{With Delena}
(Damon started to wake up, opened his eyes and looked up)
Damon: Hmm, hey, sunshine
Elena: You're an idiot
Damon: I've been told that once or twice, ugh
(He sat up and they both stood up)
Elena: What new deal did you make with Silas? How are you gonna bring Bonnie back?
Damon: Let's go find him
(They held hands, went to find Silas, and after a little while, they found him in a room calcified)
Damon: No, no, damn it, let's take him to the boarding house
Elena: Okay
(Damon picked him up and he and Elena left the party)
{With Nadia and Katherine}
[Katherine revealed to Nadia that she went back to Bulgaria in 1498 to look for her, but she couldn't find her, which made Nadia smile, and tear up]
{With Caroline and Tyler}
[Tyler was waiting for her outside and told Caroline that he loved her more than he hated Klaus, that getting revenge on Klaus was not worth it, and that he wouldn't let Klaus come in between them. Caroline happily jumped into his arms and they kissed passionately]
{In the Salvatore Boarding House living room with Delena}
[Elena told Damon what Max Wesfield told her, and that her focusing on him, wasn't gonna bring Bonnie back]
Elena: So, the only way for Silas to trade in his life for Bonnie is if he's a witch, but the only way to become a witch is to have the cure
Damon: Yep
Elena: Then I guess I know what I have to do
[She called her dad and told him to bring the cure. A few minutes later, Grayson arrived with the cure, and Elena filled him in]
Grayson Gilbert: Are you sure she didn't lie to you?
Elena: I'm sure
Damon: I am still not on board with this plan
Elena: Don't worry, everything will be okay, trust me, I will be human again, and when Silas drinks the cure from me, he'll be a witch, and we'll bring Bonnie back
Damon: That's not a risk, I'm going to take, Elena
Elena: It will work, Qetziah told us that there is no risk, and it seemed as if she was indeed telling us the truth
Damon: Well, what if she wasn't?
Elena: It's not as if I trust her because I just met her, but when she fried Stefan's brain, we didn't think he was gonna wake up, and then she told us that he would eventually, and he did, so let's give her the benefit of the doubt
Damon: I'm not going to risk your life
Elena: Please, trust me, this will work
Damon: No, you're not-
Elena: Damon, I love you, but this is my decision and I need you to respect it
Damon: Okay, alright, fine
Elena: Thank you
(Elena grabbed the cure, popped it open, and drank it)
Grayson Gilbert: How do you feel, sweetheart?
Elena: I, I don't know, I feel-
(She fainted but Damon caught her in his arms)
Damon: Elena, baby, wake up, please, you're gonna be alright, Elena, hey
(Elena opened her eyes and Grayson and Damon sighed in relief)
Damon: You scared the crap out of us
Elena: I think, I think I'm okay
Damon: What happened?
Elena: I suddenly felt dizzy
Grayson Gilbert: Here, let's check if it worked
[He took his pocket knife and pricked Elena's index finger making her hiss in discomfort, a little blood came out but it didn't heal]
Elena: It's not healing, daddy, it's not healing
(She laughed and started tearing up)
Elena: Damon, it worked
Damon: How are you feeling about that?
Elena: I feel, I feel like I wanna kiss you
[She leaped in his arms wrapping her arms around his neck, and he wrapped his arms around her waist joining their lips in a passionate kiss. Grayson smiled and then cleared his throat making them pull away]
Elena: Now it's time to bring Bonnie back
Damon: Elena
Elena: I'll be fine
Damon: What if he doesn't need all of your blood? Just a bit
Elena: Even better, he can take it from my wrist
Damon: Alright, I'll hold you
[He softly bit her wrist making her hiss in discomfort, he wrapped his arms around her, and Elena placed her wrist on Silas's mouth. He begins to drink until he gets his color back on his face, neck, and down to his fingers. Damon pulled Elena away immediately]
Damon: Are you okay?
Elena: Y-Yeah, I think so
[She fainted in his arms, Grayson quickly cleaned her bite mark and her finger with alcohol and put a band-aid on both cuts. Elena woke up making Grayson and Damon sigh in relief, and then Silas woke up]
Damon: Are you sure you're okay
Elena: Y-Yeah, I feel good, I feel alive
Silas: That's because you are, guess I didn't need to drain you completely, that's good news for you
Grayson Gilbert: So, she's still human?
Silas: Yes, she is, congratulations, yippee, hurray, now, if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go drink to celebrate
[He left the Salvatore Boarding House, Elena hugged her dad again, Grayson left, and Damon zoomed himself and Elena to their bedroom for some alone time]
