Chapter 38

[It was Saturday night, Elena and her friends were preparing all the classrooms for senior prank night, Matt was working out and when he heard the noises, he went to investigate. He accidentally ruined the prank in one of the classrooms because he had forgotten about senior prank night. Tyler then went to set up pranks in the other ten classrooms]
***PRETEND ELENA WAS WEARING HER NEW NECKLACE***

{With Damon and Katherine}

{With Stefan}
(He woke up, he ended up fighting with Rebekah, and she stabbed him when he demanded to know where Elena was)
{With Damon and Katherine}
[He parked the car, then tossed the keys away from him, and told Katherine that he would not drive anymore until she spilled everything]
Katherine: Do you recognize this, hmm? A little birdie told me that Klaus wants to get his hands on it
Damon: Why would Klaus want Elena's necklace?
Katherine: Does it matter? He wants it, and I have it, it's leverage, Damon, always stay one step ahead of your enemy
Damon: I'll keep that in mind
Katherine: Are you willing to do whatever it takes to stop Klaus? No turning back?
Damon: I'm not turning back
Katherine: Good because this isn't gonna win you any points at home, at least I think so
(She opened the trunk, Damon went to see what she had in it, and it was an unconscious Annabelle)
Damon: Anna? Really?
Katherine: Really
[Damon removed the vervain darts from her back, picked her up, and laid her on the picnic table]
{In Mystic Falls High School with Bonnie and Matt in the pool}
(They were tossing paper rolls everywhere)
Bonnie: This is fun, right?
Matt: You sound like Caroline
Bonnie: Come on, I am embracing her philosophy, you should be more into this
Matt: I know, where is Annabelle tonight?
Bonnie: She told Jeremy, Tori, and Elena that she would be going to visit her mother's grave
Matt: Hmm, do you realize that just last summer you and I were lifeguards at the pool? And the only two problems I had in my life were that Elena was breaking up with me and I sucked at CPR
Bonnie: Everything was so different then
Matt: Yeah, now, Elena's dating a vampire, you're a witch, and Jeremy is dating a vampire, who lives with Elena, Tori, him, and their parents. I'm just a guy who's wondering how life got so screwed up?
Bonnie: It's crazy, Matt, I know, I, I can't imagine what it must be like for you
Matt: It just, uh, kind of explains why I'm not that into senior prank night
Bonnie: Yeah, it's understandable, but, you know, Elena and Stefan broke up
Matt: Really?
Bonnie: Yeah, ever since she came back from Chicago with Damon, Stefan and her are technically broken up
Matt: And what's up with those two?
Bonnie: It's not my place to say anything, Matt
Matt: I'm gonna go grab some more rolls
Bonnie: I'll go with you
Matt: Okay
[They went to get some more rolls together, Tyler and Caroline met Rebekah, she broke Caroline's neck, and then Rebekah dragged Tyler with her. Bonnie and Matt eventually made it to the gym, Klaus let Dana and Chad relax, and Rebekah brought Tyler. Klaus fed Tyler his blood, then killed him, that's when Stefan arrived]
Elena: Stefan
Klaus: Well, Well, come here to save your damsel, mate?
Stefan: I came to ask for your forgiveness and pledge my loyalty
Klaus: Well, you broke that pledge once already
Stefan: Elena means nothing to me anymore
Rebekah: He's lying, Nik, that's why I stabbed him, he still loves her
Klaus: Another lie, I should have expected as much, thank you, sister
(Rebekah started going through Caroline's phone out of curiosity)
Bonnie: My grimoires don't go back that far and I'm not going to contact the witches, they won't tell me anything
Klaus: Well, I guess your friend Tyler is going to die then, and not just him but also Dana, Chad, and possibly Elena, and maybe I'll kill this young man here
(Rebekah saw a picture of Elena with Stefan, she zoomed in, and she saw that Elena was wearing her necklace)
Rebekah: You've got my necklace you doppelganger bitch! Give it to me!
Klaus: What are you on about?
(Rebekah showed him the picture)
Klaus: Well, Well, more lies
{With Damon, Katherine, & Annabelle}
(Annabelle woke up)
Annabelle: Ugh, ouch, this fucking bitchy ass slut broke my neck and stabbed me with vervain darts
Katherine: Who the hell are you calling a slut, bitch?!
Annabelle: Who do you think, whore?! I was looking forward to senior prank night!
Damon: Okay enough, start talking, Katherine
Katherine: What if I told you there was a way to kill Klaus and not dagger-dead, dead-dead?
Damon: I'd say you were desperate and lying, or drunk, or desperate, lying drunk
Katherine: Do you remember my friend, Pearl
Damon: Vivedly
Katherine: Centuries ago, she told me of a vampire who knew how to kill Klaus then she wouldn't tell me any more
Damon: Well, why not?
Katherine: Because it was her leverage, she knew it was valuable information, and wouldn't share it with me
Damon: Well, this is all great, but she's dead
Annabelle: Hey!
Damon: Well, she is
Annabelle: Have more respect for my mother, have more respect for someone who's no longer with us
Damon: Fine, may she rest in peace
Katherine: Because she's dead, I never brought it up, but she did tell Anna here
Annabelle: I trust Damon, not you, remember Mikael?
Damon: Yeah, Abigail Bennet trapped him
Annabelle: That's him, he's not only a vampire, but he's also a hunter, his tomb is in Charlotte, Virginia, but you'd be an idiot to wake him, he'll kill us all
Damon: I'm gonna go find the keys
(He went to find the keys)
{In Mystic Falls High School}
Rebekah: Where is it? Make her tell me where it is, Nik!
Elena: I don't have it anymore, Katherine stole it
Klaus: Katerina, of course, well, that's unfortunate if we had the necklace, it would make things a lot easier for your witch, but since we're doing this the hard way, let's put a clock on it, shall we?
(He put twenty minutes on the gym clock)
Elena: Matt, get Dana and Chad out of here, quickly
(Matt ran to them, Rebekah was going to after them, but Stefan stopped her, and Matt, Dana, and Chad left)
Klaus: No matter
[He grabbed Stefan and compelled him to stop fighting and just obey. He ordered him to feed on Elena when the timer went off]
Elena: No, don't do this to him, Klaus
Klaus: You've got twenty minutes, witch, you better hurry
(Bonnie ran away)
{With Damon, Annabelle, and Katherine}
(Damon got the keys and went back to them)
Damon: Where's my phone?
Katherine: Do you need to check in with Elena? Make sure it's okay that I kidnapped her future sister-in-law?
Damon: You know you have it
Katherine: What can I say? I need you present here and now
Damon: Katherine, phone, now
(She sighed and gave it to him)
Damon: Bonnie's been texting me
Annabelle: What is it?
Damon: Klaus
Katherine: No turning back, Damon
Damon: Shut up, Katherine
Katherine: Look at the big picture, the best shot at taking out Klaus is by finding Mikael
(He gave Annabelle the keys)
Damon: Stay here and guide her, I'm going back
(He started to walk away)
Katherine: You're gonna get yourself killed, the Damon I remember wouldn't have been that stupid
Damon: I wouldn't have done it for you
Annabelle: Ooh, burned
Katherine: Shut up
(Damon ran away, Katherine and Annabelle got in the car, and Katherine drove away as Annabelle was guiding her)
{In the gym of Mystic Falls High School}
Elena: Caroline's dad, Stefan, he was able to resist compulsion. I don't know how, but he did it, maybe it's possible
Stefan: Yeah, maybe it's just my control, right? maybe it just takes some focus and a couple of decades of training, no big deal
Elena: Stefan, you can control this
Stefan: You don't get it, I can't stop, Elena, I'm a ripper! A ripper doesn't stop, I listen to the words that come out of your mouth, and all I hear is the sound of your heart pumping blood through your body. When that clock ticks down, I'm gonna have to feed on you, and you wanna know what's worse? I'm not going to be able to stop
Elena: You can fight this, you just have to want it bad enough
Stefan: I love you, Elena, I owe you everything, because throughout all of this, you are the one thing that has kept me from giving up, from turning it all off, but I can't help what I am, Elena. The more blood that I get the more I want and if I get so much as near yours...you're dead
{With Bonnie}
[She was able to contact the witches, they told her the answer, but they still thought that she was abusing their power. They also told her that that was her last warning, she thanked them, and she drove back to school as quickly as possible]
{In Mystic Falls High School}
(Bonnie went inside)
Bonnie: Klaus, where the hell are you?! I've got your damn fucking answer!
(Klaus zoomed to her from somewhere)
Klaus: Watch your language, witchy, you're in school, well
Bonnie: The witches said that Elena shouldn't have survived your ritual, the hybrids can't transition because Elena's still alive
Klaus: Hmm, alright then, excuse me
Bonnie: You better not hurt my friends, and you better save Tyler
Klaus: Hmm
(He left)
{With Stefan and Elena}
[The buzzer went off, he made Elena run, he tried to stop himself from hurting Elena, and she ran into Klaus]
{With Stefan}
(He broke a broom and stabbed himself)
***PRETEND ELENA WAS WEARING HER NEW NECKLACE***

[Klaus took a small vile of Elena's blood, he made Stefan carry Elena's body to Bonnie, and he made his way over to the chemistry classroom where Caroline was with Tyler and Rebekah. Rebekah held Caroline back, Klaus had Tyler drink Elena's blood, and he became a hybrid. Klaus told Rebekah that it was time to get some more blood, she walked away with him, and Stefan. Klaus took away Elena from Bonnie despite her protests and Caroline texted Damon about where they were possibly going]
{With Klaus and Rebekah}
[He made Stefan get in the truck while Klaus and Rebekah stood outside. Klaus made Rebekah go get the truck, Damon arrived, and he tried to go into the hospital for Elena, but Klaus stopped him]
Damon: You'll have to kill me
Klaus: Oh, I would love to kill you but I made a pledge to your brother and unlike him, I keep my word. Although thinking about it now, he probably doesn't that much anymore
(He slammed Damon against the van behind him and got ready to kill him)
Damon: Don't you wanna know about your friend, Mikael?
(Klaus stopped)
Klaus: What do you know about Mikael?
Damon: Just that he knows you're here
Klaus: You're bluffing
Damon: Katherine and I found him, consider it our leverage
[Klaus slammed Damon onto the other van beside him, and he ran away quickly. Damon stood up and went to rescue Elena]
{Inside the hospital}
***PRETEND ELENA WAS WEARING HER NEW NECKLACE***

Stefan: Well, isn't this cozy?
(Damon stood up)
Damon: What are you doing here, brother?
Stefan: Last I checked, I live here
(He looked at Elena)
Stefan: Klaus is gone but he asked me to keep an eye on you until he returns. From now on, you're under my protection
(He drank the drink that he served himself)
Stefan: By all means, carry on
(He left and Damon and Elena looked at each other)
Damon: I texted your parents and told them everything, let's get you home
Elena: Okay
[She left with him, Damon dropped her off at her house, she cleaned her necklace, and then Elena went to sleep. Annabelle texted Dana, Chad, and Matt that the danger was over, and then she mass-texted the entire school that they could finish prank night after all. Everyone came back, Annabelle compelled Dana and Chad to forget about what had happened that night, she erased the message she sent them, and then everyone got to work to finish prank night]
