MATTEO: Life and Death

Chapter 32

It had been two days since the rescue and transfer of the Force-sensitive children. The crew was doing their job as usual aboard the SSV -Normandy -SR-3. Many people were ready for the next adventure especially Shepard's team- they wanted more action.

Matteo was in the training room repeating the Jar'Kai fighting style - a fighting style using two lightsabers. The new weapons in Commander Shepard's arsenal were two lightsabers that once belonged to his thirteenth sister. Kyber crystals were replaced with blue (Matteo had crystals in his collection) The sabers had a silver sheen giving character. The weapons could not be whole and become a double lightsaber (Matteo destroyed the module connecting the sabers during the fight with Iskat Akaris). Matt cut the air and fought against holograms of his enemies - stormtroopers and battle droids. He even did pretty well for a person wielding two lightsabers.

Shepard directed holo shots at his enemies. He then deflected the projectiles left and right. Enemies sped by - there were more shots. Matteo deflected as fast as he could - he was like a Jedi , not attacking just defending himself. Enemy forces called for support - more stormtroopers , battle droids and new enemies - volunteer soldiers and death stormtroopers. Now there was a rain of gunfire. Matty was forced to bounce his lightsabers even faster. Then he deactivated one of his swords and raised his left hand in front of him - a last resort.

The bolts stopped in front of him. Matteo gathered the Force inside him. The enemies stopped firing - they looked surprised so that they lowered their weapons. Lorien smiled - now he was the one who had the advantage over them. He sent their arrows in their direction - the enemies fell like flies.

However, not all of them died. Some survived the wave of bullet blasters and quickly opened fire. Matte fired his second blade and moved towards the enemies. He began, as is his habit, to murder everyone around him without the slightest shadow of mercy. He used 100% of his skill in fighting with two lightsabers. His former master Jaiden Kross would have been proud of him. He cut , slashed , slashed , pierced through and through. The lightsaber in the hands of a Jedi becomes a dangerous weapon , but in the hands of Matteo Shepard they become a weapon of ultimate destruction. Like the Atomic Bomb.

The last enemy stormtrooper. He fell dead with a hole in his abdomen. The session ended - the holograms disappeared. Matteo turned off his lightsabers and clipped them to his belt (Shep added such a function) and let out the air - he was really tired , as if he was working out at the gym. He heard clapping of hands. He looked to his left and saw Arla Jareni and Damian Reese. They had smiles on their lips - since when were they here? Had they been watching the whole fight? Master and apprentice approached the Force-sensitive warrior.

"Great fight," she praised, "You wield a sword better than any Jedi I've ever met in my life."

"Who was your master?" Damian asked. Matteo looked down - his master was one of the best swordsmen in the entire order. He was , because he had left him - he was fed up with the rules of the Jedi Order. Matty lifted his head up and looked at the young Padawan.

"Jaiden Kross was my master" Matteo began "He was a Jedi who left the Jedi Order - he did not agree with the ideology of the Order. I met him on the moon of Jedha. He taught me many things about the Jedi and the fighting style. Thanks to him and my knowledge of martial arts , I created my own style. He was a great Jedi I must admit." Matteo answered.

"And what happened to him?" Damian continued to inquire. Matt put his hands on his hips.

"We split up. Exactly , he walked away from me. He decided , I already knew how to do everything. He went his way , I went mine." Matteo explained. He had been frank lately - sometimes sincere to the point of pain. Damian put his hand on his shoulder and stroked it as a consolation.
