MATTEO: Life and Death

Chapter 18

Matteo and Eli were under the Nilus tower and watched the building's security guards - they were waiting for something more they were waiting for someone important , but who? This question even Matteo Shepard himself could not answer. While they were sitting like this in the speeder Eli Henderson decided to talk to the former Commander.

"When was the last time you were on Earth?"

"Some time ago. Nothing has changed except one thing " He clicked his finger to display the image " FBI , Interpol , CSI all are looking for you. You are considered wanted. So a little advice from me : Don't set foot on Earth , because it will end badly."

"Okay," Eli said being a little terrified. He didn't know what he was terrified of - the fact that the FBI was looking for him or the fact that he was going into action with the best man from the Republic era . He wondered if he would turn to the dark side of the Force after this action - he was afraid of what things Shepard might teach him. Then he spotted a green and gold speeder with four bodyguards and one important figure. They stopped under the tower - the bodyguards came out first with blasters in their hands and their boss at the end. Matteo put his helmet over his head and, thanks to his visor, saw who the person was.

"Well , well , well Rossi Vilean - envoy of the Pyke Syndicate," he said.

"What are the Pykes doing here? They are going to have another alliance and trade in spice. I'm sick and tired of these nits trading in something that kills," Eli muttered. Matteo looked at him.

"I see , you are now more motivated to act. But , beware your actions may lead you to use the dark side of the Force." Matteo warned. Henderson crossed his arms.

"You sound like you're from a video game - or more accurately, you're one of the people in the games who advise something like 'And in order to go on the road , you need to assemble a team.

"Wow I didn't know you could compare people to games. What game do I sound like I'm from?" Matteo asked sarcastically.

Eli looked at him again "I don't know , Baltur's Gate or Skyrim. Possibly some random RPG." Henderson answered. Shepard exited the speeder taking his lightsaber in hand. Eli also exited the speeder taking his weapon in hand.

Matteo and Eli approached the door. The two guards , who were holding their blasters looked at them. Eli grabbed his gun and Matteo smiled. The older groundskeeper's smile caught the attention of the first guard.

"Forgive me gentlemen , but admission is for members only," he said.

"Here is your fucking membership fee" Shepard took out his gun and shot the two guards in the heads. They fell to the ground. Eli looked at Matteo.

"Are you crazy?"

"Lesson number 1 - make a good entrance" After a while Matt opened the door and he and Eli went inside.

Matteo and Eli were inside the tower. Numerous security guards greeted them with blaster fire. The former commander and Jedi ignited their lightsabers. Shepard moved forward , cut these cerberus in half. Eli stood still and deflected the bullets - he decided not to kill anyone for now , he was not ready to take someone's life. As he continued to deflect bullets from enemies Matteo appeared in the middle raising one hand. The shots stopped in the air - the bodyguards did not know what to do , they stopped attacking. Matteo smiled and sent arrows in their direction killing them on the spot. Eli switched off his lightsaber being in total shock - he didn't know Matteo could do that. He walked up to him.

"Wow, where did you learn that?"

"Not from a Jedi," Matteo answered. Together they walked to the elevator. Shepard pressed the button responsible for the elevator door and they went inside. Matty then closed the elevator door and they went to the top floor.

When , they arrived at the site Matt and Eli jumped out of the Elevator and activated their lightsabers. The men of the Pyke Syndicate and the Cohen Family took out their blasters and started firing in their direction. Matteo used the same trick as below - he stopped more bullets through the Force than before , but the Pyke people kept firing until their blasters overheated. Matteo fired the stopped bullets through the Force and there was a massacre in the room - many innocent people , Rossi Vilean , Sebastien Cohen and all the people of the Syndicate and the Cohen Family. Eli was once again shocked.

"I wonder who you are in the end? Neither a Jedi nor a Sith. Maybe you are a dark Jedi?"

"No , as I said Jedi and Sith are not my thing- I never considered myself one or the other. I am simply myself. All these tricks I learned from . .

Then Michael came out of the restroom. Horror appeared on his face. He looked at Shepard and Henderson and took out a thermal detonator.

"Don't come any closer" He shouted. Matteo slowly moved forward.

"Calm down , no nerves. There's no need to panic," he said.

"Panic?! ," he said. You killed my people , my own brother and a very important guest for me! You won't get out of here alive," Cohen turned on the detonator. Shepard took another step forward.

"Listen , we don't want any trouble. I got an bounty on you - dead or alive. I can freeze you in carbonite - then I'll let you go. How about that?" Matteo asked. Michael pulled out a blaster and fired at the ground.

"No, I won't allow it! You stupid bounty hunter and . . Jedi? Hey you in the back you're a Jedi right? Do something , you won't let him kill me right? You Jedi defend the defenseless , from what I have read in the past ." Michael said turning to Eli.

"In general . . . you defend yourself - you have a grenade and a blaster in your hand. Besides, you are a criminal and according to my code should not help you." Eli said. Michael was more frightened - his last hope was extinguished. Shepard took off his helmet showing his face.

"Hey Micky , it's been a long time since we've seen each other."

"YOU! But .... You are dead after all! You died at the end of the Clone Wars! How are you alive?

A smile appeared on Matteo's face "Apparently the Force decided to give me a second chance" The detonator began to pip faster. Matty concentrated the Force around him and quickly put his hands forward sending Cohen far ahead. Matteo quickly took out his pistol and fired at the grenade causing an explosion - or more accurately, bloody fireworks. The remains of the body landed in multiple places. Eli approached Matteo.

"You didn't have to do that," he commented.

"I know," Matteo began, "but , if I had let it live it would still be doing bad things. And so I got rid of another evil.

"What about my lessons?" Eli asked. Matt looked at him.

"Let's go from here if you want to start them . And then our paths will diverge," Matteo said and he and Henderson left the towe
