The bridge of the Imperial destroyer shook from the impact of turbolasers still bombarding the Resolute. Alarms wailed incessantly, and red lights pulsed like the heart of the ship itself. Matteo Shepard stood in the center, lightsaber in hand, his team deployed for battle.
"The radar has detected something..." Tali whispered, looking at the system hologram. "We don't know what it is, but the energy is enormous."
Garrus looked at her, frowning.
"It's definitely not a regular Imperial officer."
Suddenly, a shadow moved through the bridge door. A figure in black, whose aura of dark Force filled the entire room. It was Palpatine. His red eyes glowed in the dim light, and his voice cut through the metallic hum of the systems:
"Shepard... we finally meet face to face.
"Palpatine," Shepard replied, tensing his muscles. "Your reign of terror is over."
"Naive," the Sith growled, raising his hands. The energy of the dark side began to pulsate around him. "Do you think mere heroes can stop the Empire?"
Palpatine moved forward, his force almost tangible. Matteo blocked the Sith's first lightning strike with his lightsaber. Sparks flew across the metal walls of the bridge, and the echoes of battle reverberated off the destroyer's hull.
"Garrus!" Shepard shouted. "Cover our rear!"
"Already on it!" The Turian replied , opening fire with precise shots at the Imperial agents standing nearby.
Tali, supporting the systems, immobilized some of the enemy combat droids that were trying to flank the team.
"We have to work together!" she shouted, looking at Matteo.
Matteo nodded. His force strengthened his body and reflexes, every move was precise, every blow crushing. Palpatine, however, was faster, dodging attacks, counterattacking with lightning strikes and slashes, forcing the heroes to remain on the defensive.
Suddenly, a powerful explosion shook the bridge—another Imperial cruiser had been destroyed by Alliance fighters. In the chaos of battle, Matteo spotted Noble, who was fighting for control of the strategic systems.
"Shepard!" she cried. "If we don't shut down the main reactor, the destroyer will blow itself up!"
"Understood!" Matteo shouted. "Tali, can you take over the reactor systems?"
"Already on it!"The Quarian said, her keyboard lit up with pulsing lights.
Garrus fought alongside Shepard, eliminating Sith guards and Imperial agents. Every shot was accurate, every move calculated. Matteo knew, however, that the crucial confrontation with Palpatine was still ahead of him.
Palpatine suddenly raised his hands, creating a vortex of dark energy that sucked Matteo straight into the bridge wall. Shepard hit the metal, bounced off, and immediately got up, strengthened by the Force.
"Is that all you've got?" he growled.
"It hasn't started yet!" Matteo replied, attacking with new determination.
Their fight unfolded to the rhythm of explosions and shots, the light of the lightsaber contrasting with the Sith's lightning bolts. Every blow, every movement was a clash not only of bodies but also of wills.
"Shepard!" Arla Jareni called over the communicator, "if you lose control, the reactor will explode!"
"Thank you, Master," Matteo replied, balancing himself in the fight. "Let's focus on him, and the rest is in Noble and Tali's hands!"
Matteo found a moment for a decisive attack. He focused the FORCE in his hands, pushing Palpatine backward and knocking him off balance. At that moment, Garrus and Tali performed a synchronized maneuver: their blasters and systems blocked most of the enemy's defenses.
"Now!" Shepard shouted, running into the vortex of darkness and delivering a quick, precise strike with his lightsaber.
Palpatine howled, retreating, his lightning bolts partially dispersed by Matteo's Force. However, the Sith's energy still filled the bridge, and the fight was not over yet.
Matteo knew he couldn't afford to make a mistake yet. The reactor was secured by Tali, Noble was controlling the systems, and Garrus was holding the flank. Now everything depended on his reflexes, force, and determination.
"Time to end this," Shepard whispered, attempting a risky maneuver: focusing all his Force power into a single blow that would push Palpatine away and allow the heroes to take control of the ship.
At that moment, the light of the sword illuminated the bridge, and the Sith energy swirling around the Emperor collided with Matteo's Force, creating an explosion of power and light whose echo shook the entire hull of the destroyer.
