MATTEO: Life and Death

Chapter 48

After the mission , Shepard's team was resting at its best. Everyone lay in their beds sleeping or trying to sleep but their wounds wouldn't let them. Matteo was not sleeping. He wasn't resting. He was now in the lab with Dr. Rig Nema and Rosalia.

Matteo was sitting in the Animus. They had finally managed to fix it. The machine worked better than before. Now it could store more memory and could play any recording without any problem. Grand Admiral Jane Shepard subsidized Mac's project. Words were heard by God. Shepard rose in his chair. He took a sip of coffee and rested his head on a pillow. She was comfortable.

"This ..... Maybe not a memoir , but a collection of numerous recordings and . . I don't know how to describe it. It will be like a movie. Only , that this film will be very violent. And anyway, you'll see for yourself." Rig said. Rosalia turned on the machine. Matteo slowly fell asleep. After a while it became dark in front of his eyes.

"Have fun." Those were the last words , he heard. Animus began to create a world. A very familiar world.

19 BBY. Coruscant.

"Every single Jedi, including your friend, Obi-Wan Kenobi , is now an enemy of the Republic. Do what you must, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate .Show no mercy!" These were the words of Chancellor Sheev Palpatne better known as Darth Sidious. Anakin Skywalker chopped off Mace Windu's hand and Palpatine himself killed the Jedi master with flashes of Force lightning. Skywalker himself joined Sidious in becoming his apprentice. Anakin - now known as Darth Vader asked one thing from his new master - to save Padme Amidala - Skywalker's wife. Sidious agreed to do so. But whether he intends to keep his promise. No one knows.

Skywalker went to the Republic army base. The 501st Legion was now stationed there. Vader still having memories of the battle in the Chancellor's office. He wondered if he had done the right thing. Would his wife definitely survive? Would he be happy? Will he be a good father? He pleaded with the Force , that Palpatine had saved Padme. She was everything to him. He loved her with all his heart. He would do anything for her.

Vader approached Appo. Unfortunately, Rex was not there. He was with Ahsoka. He wanted , he wanted him to be here. He and Rex. Murdering many Jedi. However, he knew , the clone would have rebelled and fled Coruscant. There was still Ahsoka left. She was no longer a Jedi. To Anakin, she was like a sister. He did not want to lose her. He won't let that happen. He is the chosen one. He will save her. He will save everyone he loves. Appo saluted.

"The Jedi attacked the Chancellor. They have become enemies of the Republic. Our job will be to kill every Jedi in the temple." Vader said. Appo was surprised.

"And you are not a Jedi by any chance?" He asked. He couldn't see Vader's face. The new SIth was wearing a hood. The Sidious disciple grabbed his lightsaber. He wanted to kill him. To pierce his heart. But no. Appo would come in handy for him. Besides, if he killed him , the Legion would revolt. He needed every soldier. He moved his hand away from his weapon.

" I'm not a Jedi anymore. I'm someone else," he muttered, loading up his hatred for the Jedi. "Get everyone together. Let's leave" After these words he moved away from the clone. It was time to bring peace , freedom , justice and security to the New Empire.

Vader walked with his Legion towards the Jedi Temple. Their footsteps were not heard by the Jedi. What fools they were. Some were sleeping , meditating or exercising. One Jedi guard ordered the other guards to lower their guard and go back inside. Lord Vader had a clear passage. It was time to pay a visit to these cowards and enemies of the Republic.

Vader and his soldiers entered the Jedi billet. Vader being confident stood and looked at Jocasta Nu - the Jedi librarian. Today she was working on the holocrons with the other students. Today, however, lessons will be interrupted.
