Goldmi fell, while continuously firing arrows. She aimed for the wings, and had to rely on Curved Shot to adjust the trajectory, as the corrupted birds didn't have a constant speed and trajectory. It wasn't easy for her to control so many at once, and the mana drain was constant.
One of the approaching corrupted beings suddenly disappeared, as it had been swept away by a fleeting shadow. It wasn't the first to succumb to the Goshawk's Collide while Plummeting. Unfortunately, there were too many of them, hundreds of them.
The albino bird also alternated with Wind Blades, thus causing more casualties to their enemies. However, it was barely noticeable.
The vampiress and the lynx watched from the ground anxiously. There was practically nothing they could do from there to help the elf. They could only wait for her to come down.
Gjaki could use a longbow, but she lacked adequate skills, and she was unable to hit moving targets. The lynx could only wait for one of her sisters to ask her to share her mana or energy. That was all she could do for them.
However, both had something to take care of. Although the dead shadows hadn't sent the ground forces, some losts had seen a living one rising and shooting. Without anyone to stop them, they were heading to the place, guided by their instincts.
Most were low level, but there were some above level 90. They had been the shadows' bodyguards, which hadn't been able to do their work properly against Goldmi's unexpected attack.
"I'm glad I didn't unsummon them," Gjaki rejoiced after sending her three Blood Hounds against the first losts.
Summoning them would cost her more mana, and they were useful to buy some time. Without wasting a second, she began to place adamantine threads. They would be useful.
The lynx, for her part, simply waited. She knew how the vampiress fought, and it was best to have a little patience. Soon, her turn would come.
As she fell, the elf faced the direction from which more enemies were approaching, and turned her back to the least. No doubt, most of them had been hiding near the shadows, while a few had been spread around, keeping watch.
The biggest problem was that they were coming from all sides, from above and from below. Although the Light Trail was quite useful in weakening them, it would have been better if they all came together, in a line.
She decided to annihilate those coming from below, where she had to pass while falling. They were the most dangerous in her situation. She completely ignored those approaching from behind, and left them to her sister.
Although the earth wasn't her medium, and much less the sky, the kraken was at level 100. She clung with a pair of tentacles to the elf's waist, while protecting her back. She Enlarged her other tentacles to catch the corrupted beings that came too close, and knocked them against each other. Then, the kraken simply let them fall.
Some of those which were trying to attack from above also suffered from the Shrunken Kraken's attacks. With Ink, she threw the black liquid into the sky, and let the losts pass through it. More than one was blinded by it, and lost control of the flight.
At worst, she could warn her sister. A well-timed Wind Push would deflect them, at least, if there weren't too many. However, halfway down, the number of approaching winged beings numbered several hundred. Many had been eliminated, but it wasn't enough.
Therefore, the elf invested a great deal of mana into a Black Hole. The powerful spell created a vacuum above her, which she moved away from as she fell. It drew in many of her nearby enemies, and diverted their trajectories. It caused them to pile up and crash into each other.
As Cyclone Barrier protected her from ranged attacks, the elf fired a Light Dragon directly into the Black Hole. It was her most powerful purifying ranged spell. It exploded into the mass of corrupted beings, thus unleashing its purifying power upon them.
Some were unharmed, protected by the bodies of other losts, but they were in no condition to reach her. There were dozens of wounded corrupted beings that hindered their flight, which prevented them from accelerating to try to match the speed of the elf's fall. In addition, she was getting closer to the ground.
Of course, many of the losts didn't fall into the Black Hole, as they were further away. They continued heading towards Goldmi, but it would still be difficult for them to get there quickly. Meanwhile, the elf continued to shoot without stopping, and was helped by the goshawk and the kraken.
With Mana Link, the lynx passed part of hers to her sister, while she jumped over a kind of corrupted wildebeest that had tried to attack her. The presence of a nearby corrupted tree had made it easier for her to jump over the trunk, from there to a branch, and from the branch onto her enemy.
She sank her claws and teeth into it, before jumping to the side. That destabilized the lost. It tripped and fell without strength on the network of threads that the vampiress had placed there.
As it squirmed, confused by its plight, the feline quickly finished off the helpless corrupted being and freed its soul. After preventing the threads from loosening too much, she quickly Jumped onto a small but highly venomous snake of varying shades of gray. In the past, they had been red and orange.
It had been pushed back with Telekinesis by the vampiress, who had spotted it when her enemy had tried to attack her from behind. She had sent it in the direction of her ally, who caught it in flight. The lynx closed her jaw without allowing the venom to act. The fire that covered her burned it before it could cause any harm.
As she pushed the snake away, the vampiress quickly crouched down. This caused a rhino beetle and a shaved buffalo to charge into each other, and not pulverizing her in the middle as they had intended. An unfortunate centipede took her place.
She had positioned herself in the exact spot to provoke that encounter, while immobilizing the centipede, which she had thrown to place it between them. She took advantage of the moment after the impact to stab the now unprotected beetle with her daggers. That hurt it enough to Twist its Neck and eliminate it, thus disappearing.
She then jumped towards the buffalo, which tried to resume its charge against her. Drill made the vampiress cut across from side to side. She pierced it shortly before it disappeared completely. In addition, the skill also reached an unsuspecting three-meter-tall ape that had just arrived, and now fell lifeless.
"Thank goodness they disappear" the vampiress congratulated herself. For once, she wasn't all covered in blood after the skill.
The losts continually arrived at their position, although they were much fewer than the winged ones. They hadn't received orders, but had detected Goldmi from different positions.
