"Come on baby, please eat something... Mom can you help me. She won't stop spitting it out of her mouth." I sigh while trying to feed Cami in her high chair.

"Hold on I think you forgetting about someone over here. Grandpa comes to the rescue." My dad plants himself in front of Cami as she immediately spits up on his shirt. I try to conceal my laughter terribly failing.

"Oh does someone need Grandma?" My mom sets aside her table cloth and hovers over Cami while she giggles up towards her. "Come here my sweetie. Callie the trick is too distract them when your feeding them. That's how the aeroplane was invented." My mom explains while my dad wipes his shirt.

"The what?" I narrow my eyes as my mom mimics engines sounds while feeding her food. I watch Cami take a bite and not spit it all over her blouse. "I swear you have the magic touch Mom. Please stay."

"Oh Callie the first few months are also the hardest, with the lack of sleep and the constant crying. Speaking of which where's Jack? I haven't seen him in a few days. You can't tell he's moved in the house." She ponders back over to the kitchen counter.

"He's sleeping. It's only fair, he has been up most nights this week with Cami and I've been here during the day for her. It's like we are on shifts at the moment." I huff peering back down to my daughter but my sigh is soon turned to a smile as I see her devilish grin come out to play.

"It will all be worth it trust me. I've done four times. And you were the worst. Like mother like daughter." She grins as I roll my eyes.

"Why are there giant lolly pops in the backyard? And why do they taste like cardboard?" Luke enters.

"Maybe because they are made out of cardboard." I clarify.

"Hey the world needs more dreamers Luke. Never stop licking things..." My dad states as I offer him a questionable look.

"I know it's lame but after last year we promised the neighbours we will keep our decorations more family friendly." My mom pours a cup of coffee.

"So we can't even carve a pumpkin? I was gonna take cute little photo with Cami inside of it like what you see on instagram." I whine.

"Oh yeah I've seen that. That would be hilarious." My dad chuckles.

"The petition was very specific." My mom grits her teeth and lowers her gaze to the counter.

There was a little what I like to call incident last Halloween where my mom almost gave a neighbour a heart attack. My mom was trying her best that year to try to come up with fun and new ideas a to take it to a new level. In the end she took it to a whole different level which ended up with him passing out on our doorstep.

"I don't care what anyone says, you did not give that man a heart attack. I mean you aren't even that scary." My dad steps in carrying his briefcase.

"Wise words Dad." I pat his back sarcastically.

"Hey can I take some of this candy?" He points to the giant bowl filled to the brim with candy.

"Yeah sure but erm—" He cuts Mom off.

"It's genius. A open house on Halloween." My dad spills the whole bowl into his bag as I raise my eyebrows. Looks like I have to make a run to the store later.

"What do you mean I'm not scary Phil? I almost scared the life out of a man." She exclaims.

"Mom I don't think that's something you should be proud of." I smirk stroking Camis hair as she wiggles in her high chair.

"Claire you literally scared a little salvia and little urine out of him. It happens to me whenever I see a monkey wearing people clothes." My dad claps back as I flicker my eyes over to him wondering if I had heard him right.

That evening I carry Cami downstairs with a tired Jack following close behind me. Alex is sat on the couch reading while my mom, wearing a little bo Nero costume,  is peering out of the front window, probably waiting for the first trick or treater.

"Look Grandma. I think I found your little sheep." I display Cami in my arms wearing a little sheep's costume.

"Oh my sweetie. You look delicious." She cuddles her out of my arms as Jack readjusts her hood.

"Still no trick or treaters?" I ask Alex.

"No, not yet. There are loads of kids on the street but it looks like they are actively detouring around our house." We all observe the view out of the front window and realise Alex is right.

"Huh..." My mom mutters before grabbing her stick and heading out of the front door.

"Wait she's not going to—" I cut Jack off before he wastes any more of his breath.

"Oh yes. That's my mom. What else did you expect Jack, this is her favourite holiday. She wants to have fun." I chuckle peering over to my mom flashing candy on our driveway hoping someone will take it.
