Murder Drones x Reader (+Oneshots)

My initial thoughts on Episode 8

Here are my actual coherent thoughts on the episode;

Though it was rushed, the episode was actually pretty nice imo.

Visually the show is more stunning than ever, but it doesn't fit Murder Drones. If I watched the pilot episode and then this one, I genuinely wouldn't believe this was the same show. That's both a good and a bad thing, because overall the animation quality has improved so much over these three years. But at the same time, this feels more like TADC than MD with all the bouncy movement. The visual gags are as fun as ever, though.

The comedy and humor in this episode isn't that good, I hope y'all get that. The comedy in episodes such as 1, 3, 6, and 7 honestly landed so much better. But I say that as someone who was giggling like a maniac over the episode.

The dialogue in general was okay. I get that this is just 20 minutes worth of fighting, and personally I WOULDNT HAVE THAT, but the dialogue kinda sucks. Honestly J's dialogue was usually my favorite part, especially the stuff with Gravity. She's basically my personal self-insert at this point—and she BARELY DID ANYTHING EXCEPT FIGHT V. Speaking of V, SHE DIDNT NEED TO COME BACK! I will die on this hill, keep dead characters dead.

More on dialogue, some of it just didn't fucking work. The best example I can think of was Uzi's "Suck... on... DIS!!!" It would have honestly worked so much better if it was just "this" and not so ebony darkness raven way coded.

The amount of swears used in this episode was... insane? Within the first six minutes there were three uses of bitch, albeit ending up censored. Same with Cyn's "God fucking damnit" like okay tadc.

Soundtrack fucking slapped

This shit was rushed as hell, and I think it is partly TADC's fault. The slowest part of the episode was the beginning, and so many other parts deserved to have some time taken to focus on, VERY SPECIFICALLY N HAVING A PANIC ATTACK. I don't care what anyone says, that was not handled well. GLITCH was in the right place with including it, it definitely makes sense given the situation, but they should have slowed the fuck down to actually focus on how that was affecting N, and to see Uzi make more of an effort in helping him with it.

Having the solver just live in Uzi now is so silly though, I love the little gradient in Uzi's eyes.

Anyway, so here's what I would change if I was writing this episode INSTEAD OF KEVIN;

Keep V dead
Kill off N
Extend the runtime to be at least 35 minutes
Focus more on some very minor development for N and Uzi being separate (even though all development should be handles before a finale, these bitches need it)
KHORI KHORI KHORI KHORI!!!
No sentinel
Have Uzi struggle with maintaining her grip on her own body and well—reality.
Actually show N getting the spaceship back
Have the solver maintain more control outside of basically just Uzi's tail
Deadass I would just kill everyone if given the chance to, but I'm still trying to have a bit of a resemblance to the ending we already had.

I rescind every statement I made before about episode 8 being my best episode because I genuinely don't think I can make this too good, and honestly might do a rewrite of the entire episode.

I am going to include more death in the reader insert chapter though. Or the same amount of death??? Depends on what your perspective of that is, though.

Also, I still really like this episode, but it's really hard not to criticize it. But now that everything is out, here's my ranking of favorite episodes—least favorite episodes;

I hope I can give a bit of joy to those who hated the episode with my reader insert, and can convince the people who loved it that improvements were needed lmfao.
