Wandering wandering and wandering.

That's all they did.

Wandering and looking.

The small drone, (Y/N), had been walking around for hours. Their parents had brought them outside, sent them out, saying to bring back the coolest thing they could find. Mother and Father always did things like this.

All they found were scary skeletons, and sleeping drones, whose eyes were gone.

The icy snow crunched under their feet, the footprints they left behind being smaller than normal. Their eyes squinted in the harsh winds, shards of ice flying at their face as they continued forward.

They had to find something at some point. They had to keep looking, keep searching so they could find something back.

Mother expected so much of them, they had to be good for her. They had to find something worth it.

Father couldn't care less about what they were doing. Just about if mother was happy. If she wasn't happy, then he got scary. And loud.

The feeling of their head throbbing was engraved into their memory.

Soon, their feet began dragging, their footprints melting together into two jagged lines. Their eyes became heavy, half-closed as they slowed and slowed down.

They fell to their knees, their legs making the lines longer. They wanted to sit.

If they didn't come back home, Mother or Father would come, right?

They'd be welcomed by Mother with open arms, her hugs being warm and great.

Father would be quiet, having not drank from his bottle for a while, also joining in on the embrace.

They flopped onto their side, an audible crunch coming from under their shoulder, the snow compacting underneath.

They dreamed of their parents coming for them, being proud of them for lasting so long without them.

But deep down inside, they knew the truth.

After a while of being powered off, their visor displaying nothing, not even closed eyes, the wind became louder.

Their eyes appeared on their screen, staring off into the mess of abandoned and frozen over buildings. The snow piled onto their body, a small coating already over their clothes.

The toxic winds beat down heavily on the child's body, little pauses before they got harsh again. Then the sound. The sound of something hitting against the air, repeating and repeating before they just...

Stopped.

Then a loud whistle came through the air, before (Y/N) was thrown back in a cloud of cold and ice, rolling across the white blanketed ground as their head began to throb, pain erupting from their shoulder.

As the dust cleared, they looked up, seeing a yellow X through the haze of now, a shadow of claws and wings along with it as some sort of tail swayed above its head.
