Lando had surprised Hannah and actually returned from the race with his Dad on the Sunday night. He'd told her that he would, repeatedly, but up until the point he'd walked through the door she still hadn't quite believed him, especially as the hours wore on and it got later and later.

It was so late that she'd already been in bed when he did arrive. She was scrolling through social media aimlessly when the bedroom door opened, she'd been expecting to see Isla, but was instead greeted by a very tired looking Lando.

"Hey." He grinned, expression brightening as soon as he saw her. "You're still awake!" He was already stripping out of his clothes to get into bed as he closed the door behind himself. He was so tired and a bed had never looked quite so inviting.

"Yeah." Hannah yawned. "Took me ages to get Isla to go to sleep. Well done today."

"It's a start." He shrugged, climbing into bed beside her and wrapping his arms around her.

They'd had a better weekend than the previous two, and he was thankful. It meant that all the hours in the sim and time away hadn't been in vain, but he was also conscious that the signs they might be able to salvage something would only make the team want to push harder before Silverstone.

And that meant he was in for another incredibly long week.

"I missed you." Hannah whispered, curling herself into his chest. Her arms tightened around him as though it might stop him leaving again.

"I know, I missed you guys too." He sighed. "You've been busy though, with Alice?"

Hannah nodded. "Yeah, your mum's been an angel keeping Isla busy. They've been everywhere. You'll need a whole day just to listen to Isla tell you about it all."

"I have the whole day tomorrow." He smiled. "I'm looking forward to it."

"Me too, we can do something? Together?" She suggested.

"Yeah." He yawned. "Sounds good."

"Before you fall asleep..." Hannah said tentatively. "I was talking to your mum earlier and she made a suggestion."

"That sounds ominous."

"It's nothing bad, I think it might actually solve everything." Hannah said slowly. "How do you feel about moving back to the UK? Your mum would be around to help me with Isla, if you need to go to MTC you can go there and back in a day. I know you love Monaco but-"

"Han." He interrupted her. "If it makes this even remotely easier for the both of us then I'm in. I'd love nothing more than to be able to come home to the two of you every night and not feel like I'm abandoning you and leaving you completely on your own every time I go to a race."

"Really?" She asked, almost in disbelief. She'd been so ready to plead her case with him and try and persuade him, a whole argument already formed in her head.

"Really." He nodded. "I just want us all to be happy, Han. It doesn't matter where."

"Have I ever told you how much I love you?" She grinned.

"Oh, that reminds me. As you love me.... There's an event Thursday night at the Hilton with the sponsors. Come with me? Save me from all the boring people trying to talk to me?"

"Okay." She nodded.

She didn't exactly love those events, they always dragged on far longer than they should, but it was going to be a busy week for both of them in the run up to Silverstone and she knew they weren't going to get much time together if not.

So Thursday night she'd travelled to Silverstone to meet him, leaving Isla with Cisca, and quietly started getting ready in their hotel room as she waited for him to return.
