Much to Hannah's relief by the time race day came around she was feeling a little bit more human. She'd actually managed to watch Lando's qualifying, cheering him on as loud as Isla had, as he came over the finish line to take pole position.

He'd headed off to the track early the next morning, muttering something about Zak under his breath as he left, leaving Hannah and Isla to follow on later.

"Come on." Hannah attended again to hurry Isla along as they walked through the paddock. "We're not going to have time to find Carlos and say happy birthday if you don't walk a bit quicker!"

She shot a quick message to Lando to tell him they were on their way so he'd stop fretting.

It had the desired effect, Isla picking up the pace considerably to the point she was almost dragging Hannah along.

The second she spotted the Ferrari building and then Carlos and Lando stood by the entrance Isla was gone, pulling away from Hannah and running as fast as her little legs would carry her.

Lando bent down, opening his arms, expecting his daughter to run into them. Hannah couldn't help but laugh as Isla veered off at the last second as her daughter veered off and instead collided with Carlos.

"Happy Birthday!" Isla grinned as Carlos picked her up, throwing her arms around his neck.

"Happy Birthday, Carlos." Hannah smiled as she reached them. She wrapped Carlos in a hug before pulling away and reaching into her bag. "Isla is absolutely insistent that you have to wear this, as it's your birthday."

She handed it to Isla, Lando laughing as he realised what it was. It was the stupid hat Lando had come home with on Isla's birthday, shaped like a birthday cake complete with candles on the top. The second Hannah had told her it was Carlos's birthday while they were away she'd been insistent they had to bring it.

Isla reached out and grabbed it off Hannah, ripping Carlos's cap off his head and tossing it on the floor so quickly Lando didn't have a chance to catch it. She pulled the birthday hat down on to his head in its place, squealing in delight.

Lando quickly snapped a photo, unable to hold back his laughter. Carlos turned around to check out his new accessory in the reflection of the Ferrari motor home.

"Wow, I look amazing." He laughed. "I'm keeping this for the drivers parade for sure."

"You're going to have to wear it all day or you'll break her heart." Hannah joked. "She's even got her Ferrari shirt on just for you."

"Oh come on!" Lando groaned.

"It's Monza and it's my birthday." Carlos shrugged. "Let me have this one, you could let me past so I could win the race too for my birthday present?"

"Zak might have something to say about that." Lando joked. "He's been on at me all weekend as it is let's not give him any more reason."

The words captured Hannah's attention for a moment. Lando had barely said a word about work all weekend, which was unusual. Every time Zak had tried to call him he'd just hung up on him, and when Hannah had tried to ask him how it was going he just changed the subject.

He'd spent most of the weekend that he hadn't physically been in the car hovering and fussing over her and Isla. She'd actually had to ban him from asking how she was feeling the day before because it was driving her insane. But she couldn't help but wonder if it might be the cause of the conflict with Zak.

"You guys are coming out later, right?" Carlos asked. "For my birthday!"

"There might be a problem with that." Hannah gestured to her daughter who Carlos was still holding.
