As Rebecca had predicted, Carlos was possibly more exited than Isla at the thought of a sleepover. But as she stood watching Isla pack enough story books to last a week, all of which she claimed Carlos was going to read to her before she would go to sleep, Hannah had to wonder if he really knew what he'd let himself in for.
"You be good for Uncle Carlos, okay?" Hannah said, bending down to where Isla stood clutching her backpack in one hand, Carlos's hand in the other.
"Call us if you need anything?" Lando said, looking at Carlos and Rebecca. "We can come and get her, any time."
"We'll be fine." Carlos brushed it off. "Come on, princess! We're going to stop for ice cream and then we can watch a movie!" He scooped Isla up off the floor and she giggled, waving to her parents as Carlos headed for the door.
"I'll supervise, I promise." Rebecca whispered to Hannah once Carlos was far enough away that he wouldn't hear.
"Thanks again." Hannah breathed a sigh of relief. She trusted Rebecca to keep the two of them mostly in check.
"Have a good night you two." Rebecca called as she followed Carlos and Isla out of the door, closing it behind her.
The house seemed eerily quiet as soon as the door shut. Hannah couldn't remember the last time they'd been there without Isla, and she was always crashing around doing something. There was always someone there, his parents, her parents, Carlos, Max... the list was endless and it was never just the two of them.
"When was the last time we were actually alone." Lando laughed. "It feels weird."
"It does." Hannah nodded.
A mischievous look crossed his face, one Hannah recognised well. "We're all alone for the whole night." He smirked, crossing the hallway until he was stood right in front of her, a hand resting on the wall beside her head as he leaned towards her.
"That was not the point." Hannah shook her head. "We're supposed to be talking."
"I'm talking right now." Lando pointed out, his lips trailing down her neck.
"Lando." She'd meant it to come out as a protest, to tell him off, but just as she said it he nipped at that spot just below her ear that he knew would drive her mad, and what actually came out was a quiet moan.
"You don't sound like you want me to stop." He smirked, clearly pleased with himself.
"Lando... I... we...." She tried to form a coherent sentence which was quite hard to do with the way his hands and lips were all over her body.
"Mmmm?" He smirked, leaning into kiss her.
"Lando, we need to talk about this you can't just..." the way her fingers wound into his hair as she said it didn't match up with the words.
"We'll talk, later." He suggested, his strong hands grasping her hips.
She'd jumped up and wrapped her legs around his waist, allowing him to carry her in the direction of their bedroom without further protest, and he grinned at her like he'd just won the best prize.
And he felt like he had.
The two of them tumbled into bed, giggling from the fact Lando had tripped over one of Isla's toys and they'd both nearly hit the floor, hands all over each other.
She didn't realise was biting her lip until he reached up, using his thumb to release it from her teeth. "You don't have to be quiet." He smirked. "We've got the whole place to ourselves."
The words sent a shiver up her spine. Gone were any thoughts of trying to convince him they were supposed to be talking. Those thoughts had pretty much all disappeared the second he'd laid his hands on her, and she was sure she wasn't going to regret it.
