The two of them had returned home the next day. Lando had been beyond relieved that spending the extra night to celebrate with Carlos had given them a legitimate reason not to fly back with Zak and Andrea. He knew Hannah was right, it was a conversation he was going to have to have with Zak if he wanted something to change, but it wasn't one he was particularly looking forward to having.
"Alice is coming over this week." Hannah said as Lando drove them towards his parents house to go pick up Isla. "We need to decide what we're going to do about this whole situation."
"What are the options?" Lando asked curiously.
"I think the only option is to postpone it." Hannah shrugged. "I'm bloody exhausted already I can't even imagine trying to perform, be pregnant and take care of the child we already have."
"Alice doesn't agree?"
She shrugged again. "She's obviously got something she wants to say. It's a lot of effort to come over here just to tell me she agrees."
"Well, hear her out. She's always full of good ideas." Lando suggested. "It'll be nice to see her, it's been ages."
Hannah nodded. "I can't wait to get back to Isla. I know it's only been one night but it feels so weird being away from her."
"Ten more minutes." Lando told her, glancing at the clock.
"We should probably tell your mum and dad, shouldn't we?" Hannah suggested. "I know we swore Carlos to secrecy but it's only so long before he tells someone."
"He wouldn't dare." Lando shook his head. "He knows you'd kill him. But yeah, we can tell mum and dad."
"When has that ever stopped Carlos before." Hannah joked.
"True." Lando nodded. "But as much as I love you, you were quite scary when you were pregnant with Isla. I don't think he'd dare mess with you again."
"Excuse me?" Hannah stared at him in disbelief. "What is that supposed to mean?!"
Lando took a breath, realising he'd put his foot in it and done exactly what he'd warned Carlos not to do. "Nothing, nothing. It's fine." He said quickly.
"If you remember correctly your child had me throwing up all hours of the day and getting next to no sleep. If I was a bit grumpy then I'd say it was justified." She huffed back at him.
"How are you feeling today?" Lando asked, deciding a swift change of subject might be the best course of action.
"I'm not going to throw up in your car if that's what you're worried about." She rolled her eyes at him.
"I'm not. I just wanted to make sure you're okay."
"I'm fine apart from wanting to kill Carlos." She shook her head.
"I mean in his defence you did keep throwing things at his head... and you told him off for breathing too loudly at one point." Lando laughed.
"I'd stop now if I were you." Hannah warned. "You're the one that couldn't keep your hands to yourself and got us into this mess in the first place."
"Maybe I should send you to go and see Zak." Lando joked.
"Don't even tempt me." She shook her head angrily. "You wait until next time I see him."
"Maybe you should stay home the next few races?" Lando suggested, because there was something about the way she said it that suggested she really wasn't joking.
