After The camp fell and the CDC turned out to be a bust, they found themselves on a highway. Marina sat in the RV, changing her bandage from the wound she had gotten at the quarry when the camp got overrun. She was using her hunting knife when she slid down the hill and the knife ended up in her side.

So, she sat still in the RV, her brother upfront in the passenger and Dale in the driver. Rick and his family were in the car behind them, along with Carol and Sophia. Daryl was riding his bike ahead of them.

She picked herself up from her seat, holding her side as she walked up to the front, her brother sat in the front passenger. She tapped him on his shoulder. "Hey, let me burrow a shirt, yeah?" she mumbled to her brother.

Glenn looked over to see his sister standing with only a bra and her bandage on, her jeans and sneakers. Glenn sighed before nodding, getting up and walking over to his bag, he tossed her a Tshirt, she nodded in thanks before bringing it over her shoulder, wincing once the pain in her side screamed.

They made their way back into the front once they heard Dale groan, Marina saw the smoke coming from the hood. It must've been the radiator hose, it had been a recurring problem for the older man.

Once the RV came to a stop, dale was the first one out, still grumbling under his breath, as he moved past Marina all she managed to get out was, "this old piece of..."

Marina chuckled before following Glenn out of the RV, Glenn followed Dale with his tools as Marina stayed by the entrance of the RV, seeing the traffic storm.

Lori stepped by her, placing a hand on her shoulder, "How ya feeling, hon?" Lori asked with a gentle smile on her face. Lori was the one who had to patch Mernie up once they found her with the blade sticking out of her side.

Mernie looked at her, sent a polite smile back. "Hurts. I'll be fine." Mernie mumbled, bowing her head a little. Lori nodded at her before taking Carl's hand and walking to the room, Mernie followed shortly after.

"can't find a radiator hose here?" Mernie heard Shane's voice as she made her way over, she didn't particularly like Shane. He was a hothead, someone who blows up and tries to make things his way, she wasn't particularly close with anyone in the group, only her brother but she stayed away from Shane the most.

"There's a whole bunch of stuff we can find." Daryl stated, looking around at the small the cars at blocked the road.

Mernie made her way towards Glenn, blocking out the rest of the conversation as she leaned against his shoulder, she was weak from all the blood she lost when she got hurt and being in the blazing sun doesn't help.

Once she saw the group break off, she picked up her bag with a sigh and started to walk into the maze of cars, Glenn's voice stopped her. "Where ya going?" Glenn asked.

"Gonna take a look around, that okay mom?" Mernie yelled back sarcastically over her shoulder, rolling her eyes at Glenn's worried tone.

She heard Glenn sigh as she continued her fast walk away, "just...Don't go far and yell if you need me." Glenn yelled, watching as his slightly twin sister walk away.

Mernie rolled her eyes again, "Yes mom!" she said as she continued walking, chuckling to herself.

Clothes. That's what she needed the most, all her clothes were dirty and her favorite shirt had a hole in it with blood on it, the same skirt she wore when she stabbed herself with her own knife.

Mernie pulled out a suitcase from a truck, getting down and wincing once she hurt her bad side, she bent down and zipped it, finding a shirt that was too big for her, some medicine, a small knife and that was pretty much it.

"that was it? No wonder your dead..." Mernie thought as she scooted the suitcase away from her and walked off to a different car. It was a small red car, she pulled a suitcase out of the car and found some more shirts, some too big and some that would fit her better but she couldn't complain, she did some something, it wasn't all crap dust.

She continued searching til she was next to Sophia, she saw a walker, then another, she quickly grabbed Sophia, covering her mouth and rolling herself and the small child under the truck.

Her eyes scanned around, seeing Carl next to her, Carol and Lori under one, Carol was crying. The walkers feet stumbled past them, Mernie felt Sophia's small body flinch once one of the walkers hit against the car, making a loud thud sound.

It lasted a few minutes, watching all the walkers pass. Sophia slowly climbed out when she thought it was all clear but a walker lunged at her, causing her to scream. "Shit!" Mernie yelled as She pulled sophia back under the car and got out from the other side.

Mernie froze when she saw another walker, seeing it come around the car. Mernie picked the crying girl up, groaning in pain and lifting her over the guard rail, jumping over her.

Mernie slipped down the hill, cursing in pain, reopening her stitches. "Fuck!" she cursed before, grabbing Sophia and running into the woods, pulling Sophia along with her.

Mernie kept running, jumping over logs, and carrying on running even though her body begged for her to stop as she pulled the small girl behind her, but she couldn't stop, she didn't give in to her body's desires as much as she wanted too. Two dead ones were on them, she kept continuing on.

She froze, turning to Sophia who was crying, "W-why are we stopping?" Sophia asked as she choked on a sob.

"Run, Sophia, Run..."
