After the barn, Merina didn't feel like speaking to anyone so she went off alone. She cleaned the blood off her face, seeing her left eye swollen and becoming bruised. She saw Maggie in the chicken coop, collecting eggs. She sighed and walked over to the girl.
Maggie looked up once she heard footsteps making her way over, seeing it was Merina, she didn't bother to say anything, only making her way out of the chicken coop.
“Maggie, please. talk to me.” Merina said softly, coming around to meet the girl but all Maggie did was walk past the girl. “Maggie.”
Maggie sighed before turning around and looking at Merina, “Close your eyes.” Maggie said, Merina only looked at her with a confused look on her face. “You said to talk to you, I'm talking to you, close your eyes.”
Merina sighed but closed her eyes, she shrieked once she felt Maggie smashed an egg on top of her head. Merina was shocked but she felt as if she deserved it. “Why would you waste an egg like that?” Merina said as she whipped the egg off her forehead so it won't get in her eyes.
Maggie turns on her heel, a satisfied smirk on her face. “I think it was rotten.” Maggie said as she walked off.
Merina groaned once she was alone, she was frustrated. First, she gets a little comfortable with the farmer's daughter who hates her then wants to kiss her then smashes an egg on her head. It got confusing and annoying quick.
“Maybe going to fort Benning isn't a bad idea.” Merina thought to herself as she walked back to camp, she went to hers and Glenn's tent, grabbing her shampoo and conditioner before going behind the house, grabbing a empty bucket before storming off one of the wells on the land. She was angry, confused.
The girl had the right to be, First there's the wonderful Maggie Greene. Making the girl feel things she never felt before, she was mostly madel at herself for this one, letting the girl get too close to her. One moment Maggie is comforting her through her nightmares, cuddling her and kissing her to ignore her and smashing rotten eggs on her head.
Merina used the well to full bucket up with water, sighing as she begins to wash the egg out of her hair. The girl had long and thick dark hair, she'll had to get the egg out now or it'll never come out.
She washed her hair in silence, nobody bugged her, everyone did their own thing. Glenn was keeping watch so she was alone. She didn't like the fact it was quiet and Shane wasn't anywhere to be seen. She finished washing her hair, putting it in a bun before walking back to the camp.
She saw Dale sneaking out of camp with the bag of guns, her eyebrows knitted in confusion before she saw Maggie coming out of the house, she sighed before rushing over to the girl. “Maggie.” Merina said, grabbing the girl's arm.
Maggie looked at the other girl with a glare, she opened her mouth to say something but Mernie was quick to cut her off. “I don't have much time, but I wanted to say I had to tell the others, I had to make sure you stay safe. All I have is you and Glenn that makes me feel something. I'm sorry Maggie, I never meant to betray you but keeping you alive is something I rather do then watch you die. I lost too much.”
Maggie stood there shocked as Merina was quick to rush off, she never heard Merina speak that much, but she thought about her words and it made her heart melt.
Merina rushed after Dale, seeing him in the distance with the bag of guns, she didn't make him aware of her presences. She didn't stay too close but she didn't stay too far away either.
Dale had placed the guns in a trash bag, trying to hide it in a tree that hold a gap in it. “Dale?” She called out softly, the man jumped and turned to look at the girl, half expecting somebody else.
“Merina, what are you doing out here?” Dale asked as he let out a relief breath, calming down his nerves.
“Saw you walk out with the guns, is this because of Shane?” Merina said with a small shrug, her eyes darting around.
“Observent, much more than your brother.” Dale said with a light chuckle, his eyes looking back at the tree he was trying to stuff the bag inside.
“Maybe that's because I'm the younger twin.” Merina said with another shrug, Dale chuckled before turning back to the tree.
The pair froze once they heard the click sound of gun behind Merina. Dale turned around, his eyes widening once he saw Shane standing behind Merina with a gun to her head, her hands up in surrender.
“Man, this is a good hiding place.” Shane said with a mocked smile on his face, his eyes landing on Dale. “We ain't been in the swamps much, huh?”
Dale's eyes flickered to Shane then Merina, “Imagine if you applied your tracking skills to finding Sophia.” Dale said with a cold voice, his eyes fixed on Shane and the gun he had pointed to Marina's head.
Shane only chuckled and shook his head, “How about you just give me that bag, huh?” Shane said, looking over at Dale. Though he said it as a question, it wasn't, it was a demand. A demand Merina wishes Dale wouldn't follow.
Dale shook his head, his face hardening but his eyes worried for Merina. “I'm not gonna do that.” Dale spoke confidently.
“Yeah, you are, Dale.” Shane said as he inched the gun closer to Marina's head making the girl even more tense. “Unless, well, you do have that rifle over your shoulder.”
“You gonna shoot Merina and I like you did Otis?” Dale said, sending a glare towards Shane. Merina felt her eyes widened before she glanced over her shoulder at Shane. “Tell another story?”
Shane chuckled again, “No man, Hell, when you really look at it in the cold light of day, you and the girl are pretty much dead already.” Shane said, stepping closer to Merina. “Give me the guns, do it now!”
