Merina woke herself- and Maggie up multiple times throughout the night due to nightmares, she woke up with a loud scream, in a puddle of sweat, or both. Maggie stayed close and got up with her each time, Merina felt bad for keeping Maggie up and waking her up because of her nightmares.

She woke up early, next to Maggie, the woman was still asleep next to her. She looked peaceful and beautiful, Merina slowly untangled her legs from Maggie and got out of bed.

She was heading towards the bathroom, when she felt an arm grasp around her wrist and pull her over to the bed. “And where do you think you're going?” Maggie asked sleepily, her eyes barely open.

Merina pressed her lips onto Maggie's head, leaving a sweet and gentle kiss. “I need a shower.” Merina mumbled, pulling back.

“You can borrow some of my clothes.” Maggie said, opening her eyes seeing Merina staring right at her as a small smile fell onto Maggie's face but she could see something was bothering Merina, maybe it was from last night.

Maggie lost her smile, “You okay, Mernie?” Maggie asked as she stared at Merina with a concerned look on her face. The girl didn't answer, Maggie decided not to push it right now.

Maggie slid out of bed, heading over to her closet. She pulled out a long sleeve green top and a pair of jeans, laying them out on the bed. “You can have these.” Maggie said, sending the girl a smile.

Merina got up and kissed Maggie on the cheek before looking into Maggie's eyes, “I'm sorry, for last night, waking you up-” Merina tried to say, but was cut off by a pair of soft lips, gently on top of hers.

Maggie pulled back, opening her eyes. “You're fine, really.” Maggie said softly before picking up the clothes and handed them to the girl. “Now go shower, Stinky.”

Merina chuckled and rolled her eyes before taking the clothes to the bathroom, shutting the door behind her. Merina turned on the hot water before she looked at herself in the mirror.

Her face was still badly bruised, but a lot of the swelling has gone down. She sighed, slowly taking off the bandaid that covered a cut that was right above her eye. She took off her clothes, pulling her shirt off with a grunt as her muscles.

She looked down at her body, covered in scratches, scars and bruises. She sighed before stepping into the hot water, letting her body relax under the water and letting the hot water hit her sore and tense muscles.

She finished her shower, washing her hair and body as she dreaded today, she hated how everyone saw her so weak just last night. She knew people had concerns and questions, she knew she had to open up how she knew the kid- well seen him before.

She wondered if she was even ready to face it herself, she wondered if she'll ever be ready but she knew she had to, not because the group would want to know but because she knew what Randall's group was capable of, she had to experience it, it's the cause of her nightmares and her scarred body.

Tears swelled up in the girls eyes as the awful memories replayed in her mind, her body begin to shake and tremble. She shook her head, releasing herself from her mind before finishing her shower, she sighed as she stepped out.

She slid her clothes on, brushing her hair and teeth before exiting the bathroom, she sighed before heading downstairs. She saw Glenn sitting on the couch, possibly waiting for her.

“Merina, good morning.” Glenn said as he jumped up from his spot once he spotted the girl coming down the stairs.

“Good morning, Glenny.” Merina said as she sat down next to him on the couch, Glenn sat back down next to her. Merina's eyes flickered down to her lap as she nervously picked at her hands.

Glenn's eyes flickered down to the girl's hands, seeing her pick and dig her hands. “are you okay?” Glenn asked before his eyes flickered back up from her hands.

“I'm... I'm fine.” Merina said with a sigh, looking over at him. Glenn placed his hand on Merina's, stopping her from digging her nails into herself.

“I know you're not, Meri.” Glenn said gently, his face had a concerned expression, he was worried for his younger sister. His twin. “Is he apart of that group that-”

“Yes.” Merina said quickly, cutting Glenn off. She didn't want to think about it at the moment, she knew Rick or Shane will come over any minute of the day to ask some questions and she needed to prepare for that, didn't want to think about it any longer than she had to.

Glenn nodded, watching her with worried eyes. “Do you need anything?” Glenn asked his sister, Merina shook her head. “Alright, come find me later.”

Merina watched as Glenn left the house, she leaned back in the chair as her minds clouded her...

-★ Lori's POV ★-

Lori was putting laundry on the rope to let them dry, she hasn't spoken to anyone besides Rick since last night. She heard footsteps from behind her, she turned on her heel to see Shane, standing a few feet away from her.

Lori ignored him, only sending him a glare as she continued what she was currently working on. “Lori, will you just hear me out for a second?” Shane asked as if it was a plead or he was desperate.

“So, You can lie to me again?” Lori said sarcastically, not daring to look at him, walking off to hang more clothes up on the rope.

Shane scoffed, shaking his head. “It was one little white lie,” Shane said with a sigh, “But I think that,” Shane said as he took a step closer. “I think you oughta be thinking about how lucky we are that your baby's safe.”

Lori spun around on her heel, a angry look on her face. “you just can't stop lying, can you?” Lori spat out angrily, pushing Shane a step back. “My husband is safe and sound, My husband is dead in some hospital.”

Shane let out a dry chuckle, rubbing his hands on his face before taking a deep breath. “When are you gonna stop throwing that in my face, huh?” Shane asked, clearly annoyed with the woman. Shane rushed over to Lori as she tried to walk away, blocking her path. “I thought he was...” Shane trailed off, as he shook his head. “The point here, Lori, Is that you cannot keep running off like that. What were you thinking?”

Lori sighed, “I was thinking we needed Rick here to keep us safe.” Lori said, crossing her arms off over her chest.

Shane was taken back, he looked as if someone had just punched him across the face before a look of anger fell on his face. “Rick? I keep you safe!” Shane whispered-yelled, stepping close to Lori.

“Like you did with Otis? And Merina?” Lori retorted in anger but took a deep breath, “What happened that night? And why did you hurt Merina? She may be closed off but she's one of us, Shane. Everyone believes your the one that hurts her, and No one agrees with it.”

Shane didn't say anything, shaking his head as he stormed off away from the woman. Lori watched him stomp away, reminding her of a angry toddler who didn't get his way.
