Rick's POV
Rick was having an important conversation with Daryl about Randall and the shed, cutting it short once he saw out the corner of his eye, Shane coming to him, with the look he had on his face for awhile now, Anger.
Rick said his goodbyes to Daryl before turning towards Shane's direction, Daryl walked away, eyeing the two men before continuing on. "I think it's time you and I have a talk, don't you think, Rick?" Shane said as he got closer, just a few feet away.
"Yeah, I do." Rick said plainly, looking over at the man. "Been putting it off for too long," Rick said before his eyes flickered down to the ground in front of him. "Did you hurt Merina?"
Shane scoffed, shaking his head. "I think we have bigger things to discuss other than some kid showing up with a couple bruises." Shane said with a dry chuckle.
"This is important, too. Just like the rest of the shit, we have to speak about." Rick said sternly as he took a step closer to the man. "She's one of us, she and Glenn saved me in Atlanta, I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for them."
Shane didn't say anything back, his eyes only scanning Rick's face. "So, do us both a favor and stay away from her, don't even look at her." Rick said, saying as if it was for a warning.
Shane didn't bother to say anything back, only staring at the man. After a moment of silence, "What are we gonna do about Randall, man? Keep him locked in the shed forever?" Shane finally spoke, letting out another chuckle, Andrea and T-dog overheard and walked over, soon the whole group minus Merina and Hershal's people.
The whole group was curious, and scared of the boy in the shed and Merina's reaction upon seeing the boy. "And, Merina's reaction to seeing the boy, she's got to know something about him or his group." Andrea spoke up, stepping closer to Rick and Shane.
"So what do we do? Question her?" Tdog asked, looking towards Shane and Rick, curiously. His eyes flickering between the pair. Shane wiped his hands on his face.
"I guess we-" Shane tried to say but Rick was quick to shut him up. "I'll talk to Merina, alone, once I find out something, I'll tell the group but until then, don't mention him around her." Rick said, looking at the group before sending a glare towards Shane.
“Okay, but what are we gonna do about him?” Lori asked, crossing her arms over her chest, looking at Rick. “Shane's right, we just can't keep him locked in the shed forever.”
“Why did you bring him here, man? Where your kid sleeps? Your pregnant wife? All of us.” Shane said, another angry look on his face.
“We couldn't just leave him behind, he would've bled out, if he lived that long.” Rick said to the group, shaking his head before looking at Shane. “Hershal said he won't be on his feet for at least a week, but when he is, we give him a canteen, take him out to the main road and send him on his way.”
“Isn't that the same as leaving him for the walkers?” Andrea said with a scoff but with a confused look on her face as she crossed her arms over her chest.
Rick took a glance at the blonde, before narrowing his eyes to the ground. “He'll have a fighting chance.” Rick said, looking at the blonde again.
“Just gonna let him go?” Shane said surprised, his eyebrows raised as he stared at Rick. “He knows where we are!” Shane yelled, once again, anger is back.
“He was blindfold the whole way here.” Rick said, turning his attention to Shane. “He's not a threat.”
“Not a threat!” Shane repeated angrily, “How many of them were there?” Shane ranted angrily, stepping up to Rick but the man didn't flinch or back down. “You kill three of their men, you took one of them hostage, but they just ain't gonna come looking?”
Rick glared at the man, “They left him for dead, no one is looking.” Rick spat out angrily, his eyes flickered to the group. “We should still post guard.”
“Hershal said he's still out cold, will be for another few hours.” Lori said, looking at her husband who nodded at what she said.
“You know what?” Shane said with a dry chuckle, stepping back from Rick and the group. “I'm gonna go get him some flowers and candy.” Shane said as he turned on his heel and started to walk away. “Look at this, folks. We are back in fantasy land.”
Rick's eyes flickered to Glenn, "Come with me to talk to Merina." Rick said before starting his walk back to the house, Glenn on his heels. Though, Glenn was gonna be there either way, either Rick asked him or not.
Merina's POV
Merina's day was running smoothly so far, other than feeling exhausted from last night's events and her nightmares keeping her and Maggie awake. Merina still felt bad, but each time she tried to talk about it, Maggie shushed or kissed her, which Merina didn't complain.
Merina stepped out on the porch, Maggie right after her as both seen Glenn and Rick walk up to the house. The look Rick was giving her, she knew what he was gonna talk to her about, she let out a shaky breath and sat down on the porch swing, and narrowed her eyes on the ground.
Maggie sat down beside the girl, placing a soft hand on her back. A silent way of telling her that she was there for her if she needed it, Merina knew she'll need it at this point. Rick and Glenn made it to the porch, Glenn immediately took the other side of Merina on the swing and Rick sat down on the rocking chair the furtherest away from the girl.
