Lori did what Rick told her to do, keep Merina in her or Maggie's sight, just until he got back. Lori was sitting down at the campfire in their camp as she fiddled with some clothes. Merina was close by, staring off in the distance, Lori's eyes flickered over at the girl.
“Wanna talk about what's on your mind?” Lori asked, mher eyes focused on her work. Merina took a glance towards Lori before looking off back in the distance.
Merina let out a sigh, “Maggie told me she loved me, and I...kinda ran away.” Merina mumbled, her eyes flickering to the ground.
“You don't love her back?” Lori asked as she raised her eyebrows at the girl. Merina stayed quiet, blushing creeping on her cheeks. Lori smirked. “You do love her back. Oooo lala.”
“You sound like Glenn,” Merina said as she rolled her eyes, Lori chuckled at the girl, rolling her eyes. “I don't know if I feel anything for Maggie or not, but I don't understand how she could love me. I mean, she doesn't know anything about me. She must be confused, or grieving.”
Lori chuckled, “Honey, I'm sure Maggie is old enough and smart enough to know what she's feeling.” Lori said as she started to hangup the clothes on a rack. “and it's obvious to everyone she feels something for you.”
Merina stayed quiet, her eyes staring down at the ground as she took in Lori's words. “This could be a good thing, enjoy it while it lasts. The world ended, not much good happens anymore.” Lori added. Merina nodded.
Lori and Merina talked as they walked back to the house, it was getting late and she was getting worried for Rick, as Merina felt the same for Glenn. Merina waited in the kitchen, as Lori went into the room where Maggie and Beth were.
Lori rushed out of the room, and out of the house. Maggie came out of the room, making Merina quick to follow the older women. She followed her past all the tents from camp, she didn't know where she was going but she wasn't ready to face Maggie, she felt like a jerk for not saying anything back.
Lori and Merina walked further and further til she saw a tent, a camp fire, and Daryl. The hunter must be distancing himself, and right now, it wasn't a bad idea to Merina. “Moving to the suburbs?” Lori teased as she and Merina walked closer.
The hunter didn't say anything back, only looking at the two with a scoff. “listen, Beth's is in some sort of catatonic shock. We need Hershal.”
Daryl rolled his eyes, “Yeah, so what?” Daryl said in a annoyed tone, making Merina shuffle back. Lori was confused, but Merina could understand why he was being like this, Daryl was out all the time looking for Sophia, and finding her dead was probably hard.
“So, I need you to run into town real quick and bring him and Rick back.” Lori said, her eyes never leaving Daryl as she still wore the worried expression. “And Glenn.” Merina spoke up in a mumble.
Daryl just ignored the two, only focusing on finishing his own camp up away from the group. “Daryl?” Lori spoke out, letting out a sigh.
“Lori, I can go.” Merina said softly to the women, wrapping her arms around herself as she looked over.
Lori shook her head, “No, you're hurt and need to rest.” Lori said with a sigh, looking back at Daryl.
Daryl sent the two a glare, “your bitch went window-shopping. You want him, fetch him yourself, I got better things to do.” Daryl spat out gruffly.
Lori was taken back, but Merina was a little shocked but overall, seemed to understand. She understood more than Lori did. “What's the matter with you? Why are you being so selfish?” Lori asked annoyed at Daryl, narrowing her eyes at him.
Daryl snapped his head to her, sending her another glare. “Selfish?” Daryl said, stepping closer to Lori. “Listen to me, Olive oil. I was out there looking for that little girl every single day.” Daryl said angrily, “I took a bullet and an arrow in the process. Don't you tell me about me getting my hands dirty.”
Daryl stepped back and his flickered between the two. “You want those idiots? Have a nice ride!” Daryl said as he turned away from the two. “I'm done looking for people.” Daryl finished as he walked off.
Lori walked off, stomping off back to the farm. Merina sighed and jogged after the girl, “Lori, just let me go. I know where they are-” Merina tried to say but Lori shook her head. “You're not going alone?”
Lori sighed, “Of course not, I'll ask Andrea and T-dog to go, or one of them to come with me.” Lori said, looking over to the girl, seeing her nod her head. “Go rest, go ask Maggie if you can stay in one of the rooms, away from everyone else.”
The two walked to the farm, Lori broke off to her tent and Merina walked to the house, she walked in with a shaky breath before walking to Beth's room, seeing Maggie next to the bed on a chair.
Her eyes flickered to Marina, her eyes lighted a little but Merina crushed her hopes before taking a step back and looking away. “Lori said to come rest in here?” Merina mumbled.
Maggie sighed, and nodded her head. “Take the room next door,” Maggie said, narrowing her eyes before looking back at Beth.
Merina's eyes flickered to Maggie for a moment, watching her before heading into the room that's next door to Beth and Maggie, she slid off her shoes and got into bed, stretching her tense muscles.
Merina closed her heavy eyes, and tried to get comfort but her mind just wouldn't let her sleep. She wondered if Maggie really did love her, or maybe she really was just confused or is grieving, but then again maybe Lori was right.
