Shane kept going, pounding on the barn door as the group yelled at him not to do it or some were standing in shock. Finally he used his gun to break the lock, getting the doors open. Merina turned her head to see Maggie, seeing Maggie standing in shock with her father and sister, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Walkers begin to stumble out of the barn, the others begin to shoot, Merina had her hand on her gun, Maggie nodded as if Merina was asking for permission. Merina sighed, getting up on her feet and started to shoot the walkers.

After they all hit the ground and the gunfire stopped, Merina couldn't look at the scene anymore. She could hear Beth crying for her mom, her brother. Her eyes flickered up to the barn once she heard a walker growl and shuffling feet.

A small child came out of the barn, dirty and weak, a bite mark on the girl's shoulder. Sophia. Carol started crying, tried to take off running to her but Daryl grabbed ahold of her, she sobbed.

The group was silent, stunned. None of them felt like they could move, make a sound. Not one. Rick grabbed his gun, his eyes narrowing. He walked to the girl and raised his gun, Merina began to space out, allowing herself to drown in her thoughts.

Merina was running, running back to the campsite she made with her two younger sisters. She had to go find food, and left the two girls by themselves. She kept running, even though her legs and body begged for her to stop or to slow down but she didn't listen.

She believed she had already lost her brother, she couldn't lose her sisters too. She made it back to the campsite, her eyes widening at the sight of the tent being torn and knocked over.

She slowly stepped closer, there she was. Chole, laying at the ground with a bite on her neck, blood stained her skirt and her skin was pale. Her eyes a light gray color as if the color was washed away.

The small walker child was eating her own sister who laid dead on the ground. Merina screamed, a loud shriek of sorrow and despair.

Her vision was flooded with tears as the walker of her younger sisters slowly came towards her. She shakily raised her gun,

“I-I'm sorry, I'm sorry I couldn't protect you!” Merina said as she cried, shooting her two sisters in the skull. Chole first, Malenie second.

The sound of a gunshot brought Merina out of her mind, she saw Sophia's lifeless body fall onto the ground. She had to get out of here, her body was shaking and her skin was white as a sheet of paper.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Beth struggle out of Maggie's arm and walked over to the pile of walkers, Rick tried to stop her on the way, but it was no use. She knew who she was going after.

The walker, her mother, a women with long brown hair and a dress on. Beth sobbed, but the walker wasn't actually dead, it grabbed onto beth, scaring the girl, trying to attack her but everyone was quick to step in. Merina was the first one over.

She grabbed onto beth, yanking her from the walkers reach. The group killed her, Hershal and Maggie kept their arms around Beth. Merina turned on her heels and walked off in a fast pace, she didn't want to talk to anybody, she couldn't bear to see anymore. She felt eyes on her as she continued on, but didn't bother to stop.

Maggie glanced at Glenn, wanting to go after the girl but Glenn was quick to shake her head, meaning to leave Merina alone for the time being. Maggie understood but didn't want too, she wanted to go after the girl and check her injuries, make sure she was okay but her family needed her too.

Merina stayed in her tent for hours, unable to sleep and still didn't want to talk to anyone. She slowly came out of her tent, she felt more eyes on her but she didn't bother to see who they were from, or to talk so the girl continued on.

She saw Lori running to the house, she sighed and followed her. She didn't like the fact Lori was running the house, she found Beth looking still on the bed, in some state of shock, Maggie hovering over her.

Maggie looked over at Lori, “what's wrong with her?” Maggie asked in worry, tears swelling up in her eyes.

Lori's eyes flickered to the girl on the bed, “She could be in shock, where's Hershal?” Lori said as her eyes flickered back to Maggie, then she noticed Merina who stood in the hall, out of the way, dried up blood still on her face, and badly bruised.

Her fingers fiddled with the lining of her shirt, hearing the two girls talk inside the room. She felt the wind of someone rushing past her, leaving the room. Her eyes flickered up to see Maggie still standing in the room, staring right at her with a look of concern.

Merina only looked away, she didn't want to be talked too or be around anyone. She doesn't even know why she came in here, but she came anyway to find Beth in some sort of shock. Rick, Lori, Glenn and Shane came back into the room.

They talked for a minute, looking around Hershel's things and figuring out where he went. Merina stepped to the doorframe, hearing the group talk.

“I didn't take Hershal as a drinker.” Shane said as he found an old flask, tossing it to Rick who caught it with ease. That's when Lori noticed his hands, the bruised knuckles as it the man was out punching walls, Lori looked over at Merina seeing the bruising, the blood and just overall damage to the girls face.

Lori moved away from Shane slightly, Merina was the only one who noticed.
