You placed the small, white paper box on Bakugou's desk and cleared your throat, feeling like your heart was going to come out with how hard it was pounding.

"Hey," you called for him in a direct voice to call for his attention. He had been looking out the window the whole time you had made your way over, so he hadn't noticed your presence in the 2-A classroom.

Finally facing you, his eyebrow quirked up in question for your sudden appearance in front of him. You better not have come here just to give him shit for how he was wearing his uniform right now.

It was morning and classes would begin in fifteen minutes, but you had come here to finish up with this council business once and for all.

You pointed a glance at the white paper box you had placed down like it was some nuclear bomb. Inside it was a simple chocolate cupcake with orange buttercream frosting and an elegant "Thank You" written with black frosting.

The thank-you cupcake for Bakugou Katsuki, courtesy of the first year council members, who were grateful for his unsympathetic push but too scared to volunteer to actually go up to him and say it.

So, they had sentenced you to carry the offering to the dragon.

Having been kept in your dorm fridge overnight, the cupcake probably wouldn't have held up until lunch or the end of the day, so it was reasonable for you to hand it to him first thing in the morning - a reasonable fact that had your stomach in knots and mouth dry while you were getting ready this morning just thinking of interacting with him so soon.

Crushes are so annoying. It's not like you were going to act on your feelings; So, the best masterful plan you had come up with for this inconvenience that arose was to just pretend you didn't have any feelings for him until they eventually went away in a few weeks.

Still, your diligence and integrity as Student Council President weren't going to go up and away just because you had business with someone you would rather avoid thinking about for a little while. Taking away your obvious personal feelings to look at the situation in its simple entirety, you had to acknowledge that Bakugou really had done a good deed to your first year council members, who had rallied together for the first time and vowed they would work harder from now on. As Student Council President, you would have to thank him for that.

All you could focus on was the ruby of his eyes as you willed yourself not to waver under this new sort of pressure you were under. The sort of pressure that comes when you're trying your hardest not to show any hint of the newfound feelings you were harboring for the jerk in front of you.

You were not going to subject yourself to such melodramatic embarrassment just because you finally admitted to yourself that you had a crush on him.

"I'm here as Student Council President," you started, your face and tone all business. Meanwhile, your mind's chemicals were going haywire, sloshing around in a chaotic whirlwind of nerves - both pleasant and unpleasant.

"I know you don't eat sweets all that often, but this is a gift from the first year members of the Student Council. They wanted to thank you for...inspiring them to work harder."

Now you could feel your face warming.

Bakugou furrowed his eyebrows at your words, confused as to what you were talking about and looking for answers.

"What the fuck are you on about now?"

Oh, maybe he needed a refresher. The festival was three days ago.

"My first years told me about what you did at the festival."

"Hah? What'd I do?"

You didn't know how long you had stood there for, just staring at him blankly - it felt like an eternity for you but it had probably been only a few seconds.
