After the sweet events in his room that left the biggest question mark over your head and a hard beating in his, you and Bakugou weren't able to see each other until the end of the week on the day of the festival Mina dragged everyone to.
You and Bakugou blushed furiously seeing each other until he greeted you with his nod and you managed to smile through the dizziness.
It still didn't feel real that you had Bakugou's attention - that he liked you back. Liked you enough to kiss you, but not enough to be his girlfriend. That thought quickly dampened the giddy mood you'd been in.
But he stuck himself beside you with his hands in his pockets; and if the group noticed any changes in the vibes, they didn't say anything.
Kirishima, the only one who knew about the development and had been sworn - more specifically, threatened (but he hadn't been planning on running his mouth anyway) - to secrecy, greeted you with a smile and a new look on his face, like awe and curiosity. You almost couldn't look him in the eye there for a second.
So on the day of the festival, which was being hosted by companies at the city's amusement park that fortunately gave free entry to students, the crowds on the main courtyard had you bumping and hitting random bodies that were also trying to pack themselves towards the grand stage, the heart of the event.
"Out of the way," Bakugou growled at everybody and nobody, already at his limit for bullshit, and gripped onto your shirt on the small of your back before you could get lost in this annoying ass crowd of sardines.
Once you popped out of that suffocating sea of bodies and looked around to a spacier outdoor hallway of festival booths, you worried when you noticed the rest of your friends were nowhere to be seen.
"Where the fuck are they?" Bakugou's taller head looked around while you texted the groupchat your location.
You gasped at Kaminari's text, "What the hell?! They all got to the front?!"
After some back and forth messages between you and the rest of the gang who had luckily gotten to the stage despite the chaos, Kirishima managed to convince Sero, Kaminari, and Mina to stay put in their lucky spots at the barricade.
Mina didn't need to be told twice; she was watching the stage with dazzling eyes in anticipation for her dance group in the final lineup of performances, while Sero asked if it was okay for them to ditch you and Bakugou for a whole day like this.
"It's fine," Kirishima insisted they stay for the whole six hours, "They can just play some games. It's a festival!"
"Fuck them, let's just kill some time," Bakugou finally huffed after you read him the messages and walked off muttering curses, "We're already here."
You looked everywhere but him while you explored the area and absentmindedly commented about anything you picked up as remotely interesting, wondering if this would be the best moment to talk about what you two were.
You made up your mind very quickly when a little kid nearly trampled your feet and a festival staff blew bubbles into your face and the hundreds of voices drowned your thoughts.
This was not the time and place.
"So," Bakugou stopped at a random stand, trying to keep his eyes on you because he wasn't a fucking pussy, "The other day -"
"DO YOU WANT TO TRY OUR TAKOYAKI?"
A festival worker was holding two takoyaki sticks in front of your faces. You failed to see Bakugou's venom behind the red irises aimed at the interruption as you smiled and took the free sample with a thank you. You raised a brow at him when he just stood there with his hands in his pockets.
