It was still pretty dark out in the early dawn hours while you waited outside Heights Alliance, a dimness shadowing all vibrancy while you absentmindedly kicked at the ground and swung the gift bag back and forth, waiting for Bakugou to come open the door.

You were frowning at the ground with a disturbed look in your eye, your brain boggy from staying up later than you were used to because against the all-knowing voice in your head that had been trying to warn you not to do it or else you'd be hit with the after effects, you had picked your phone back up and stupidly reread your messages with Bakugou over and over again.

And embarrassment wasn't enough to describe the soul crushing regret you had for sending him some of those texts, an undertone of suggestiveness that you hadn't caught at the time and only realized after it had already been said and done.

That was such a weird thing to do! And had you really sent him a selfie? It was definitely the nicest one you had picked out from your multiple tries, but still! This was so embarrassing. He was most definitely going to make fun of you, and since you willingly played into his game, you had neither the honor nor the energy in you to fight back.

A puff of smoky air exited your hopeless sigh, the coldness of the gray morning air nipping at your face as you took to wrap the sweater you had thrown on over your pajamas closer, the cold doing nothing to soothe your nerves as you gave a small shudder.

It was the sliver of yellow light that cascaded from the opening door that broke some of the dullness of the dawn outdoors, making your foot freeze mid kick as a hot flush overtook the chilliness of your skin, looking up to meet those strawberry eyes honeyed with danger.

"Bakugou," you did your best to smile as his imposing presence leaned up against the doorframe, holding up the gift as a peace offering, "Your gift."

He simply narrowed his eyes at you, not believing you had the audacity to act so sweet after annoying the shit outta him just last night, teeming with irritation that you didn't know firsthand the effect you had on him.

"This shit better be good."

You were relieved he didn't pounce, assuring him, "It is. I mean, I hope you like it."

He made a croaky hum from his throat, sounding even deeper with the morning effects, "I'll see," and you froze, feeling the foggy remnants coming back when his hand came at your head, a finger faintly twirling a small section of your hair for a second before your head was gently tugged forward.

"Payback," he smirked with a lazy morning's effort as he let go.

You were left in shock, feeling your face blossom with fire that put out all of your remaining fighting sparks.

A pleased rumble came from him seeing your dumb struck reaction for the small hair pull to make you eat your words, "Did you think you were off the hook just cause you were bringing some shitty gift? Your annoying ass ruined my night."

"Did I?" you feigned guilt, although you were also trying to lead the conversation somewhere else, "Well, I brought you this anyways."

Instead of taking it, he kicked the door wider, "Get in, dumbass."

You laughed nervously, not possessing the safety of being behind a screen, "I'm just here to give this to you. Take it."

His scowl only deepened at your refusal, "I'm not freezing my ass off for this shit. Just get in. Your lazy ass probably hasn't eaten breakfast either."

"I'm going to eat later," you tried to explain, ignoring how he called you lazy - which you were anything but and he knew! - seeing that school didn't start for another two hours for you.
