The exterior of the building was simple, but its presence overwhelmed Rarama. The walls exuded the weight of the years spent guarding the secrets of the occupants of the place. The pale grey stones seemed to absorb the sunlight. There was something about the old windows with their opaque panes that made Rarama uncomfortable and send shivers down her spine.

The double door of dark wood opened slowly at the signal of the director. The crowd began to move again after him in the greatest silence.

The hall was dark: the only light came from the chandeliers erected along the anthracite walls. The black tiles reinforced this impression of darkness

Rarama looked up to admire the ceiling. This one, made of marble and gold, pierced the retinas by the contrast that opposed it to the rest of the room. Lines of gold formed a pentagram that linked the five elements.

At the very top was the Blood, represented by a red drop. This was the element to which Rarama and her family, as well as the Vampires, were linked. Next to his left was a midnight blue brain that symbolized the Spirit, which was used by the Walkers and Electromancers.

Below was Space, personified by the golden bonds that gracefully spread out in all directions, the element of the Golds and a forbidden species. To the right of Space was the Manipulation, common to the Achrons and a banished species, represented by a yellow puppet over which hovered the shadow of a hand.

Finally, at the top right of the pentagram, an imposing black mass symbolized Chaos, the forbidden element.

Rarama knew nothing about the forbidden species, even their names. All information about them was classified. The only thing she knew about them was that they were mortally dangerous and loved death to the point of placing no value on life, whatever it was.

"Move again," the director ordered in an icy tone

It was at this point that the Lympyre realized that she and all the students had stopped to admire the ceiling.
