The Vampire's eyes widened in panic. Who knows what they would do to him if they caught him? With the supernatural speed characteristic of his species, he roamed the corridors – far, farther, farther. Alexandre could not stay there any longer. He would monitor their target for more information before taking action. He was sure that Lauren would help him as soon as he explained what he had just heard.
As he thought of her, his mad dash led him to the Walker. In a split second, he grabbed her hands before blathering at full speed what he had just learned.
"You know far too much..." Lauren finally said.
Alexandre knew her well enough to see the anxiety in her eyes. She always thought of the worst - in this case, she must have told herself that he was in danger. Despite the urgency of the moment, he smiled tenderly. That was why he loved her with all his heart.
His... heart?
Stunned, he stared at Lauren's arm, which was sinking into his ribcage.
He didn't understand.
"It's a pity," his girlfriend said, taking her arm away with a horrible sucking noise, "but I have to kill you."
Alexandre stared at the bloody object in the Walker's hand as he fell to his knees, overcome by weakness. She had ripped out his heart.
"Lau... ren?" he said with difficulty.
With a Mephistophelian grin, the young girl watched him exhaust his last strength.
Alexandre's eyelids closed forever.
"Don't worry," Lauren smiled, "I'll make sure no one finds your corpse... for now."
