Rarama stood up and took her friend in her arms. Words were not her strong suit, so she simply said:

"I'm here."

They remained motionless for a few minutes. A pupil passed by and stared at them with a disapproving air; if the Lympyrus had guns instead of eyes, she would have turned it into a sieve.

"I had a nightmare during Nap class," whispered the Achron.

Ten simple words that chilled Rarama.

"The last one was more than two years ago, so I thought I was going to have a normal dream – that's why I volunteered," she continued, her voice trembling. "But it went wrong. I was back in those days, when I... well, you know what I mean. And that's not the worst part. It's impossible to go back in time during sleep, except that I did. No, it wasn't exactly that, I like... altered? indirect? the unfolding of my nightmare."

"Then it was..."

Rarama did not finish her sentence. The consequences terrified her.

"Yes," Lys confirmed in a low voice. "These were not Achron's abilities, but Walker's. She... she has succeeded in making me a monster."

"You are not a monster," replied the Lympyre immediately. "The only monster is the person who has experimented on you."

"If you say so..." Lys whispered, unconvinced.

A slight silence followed this sentence before Rarama realized:

"There was a Walker in your head during the nightmare, right? Do you know what he saw? Did you take precautions to keep him quiet?"

"Yes. One girl, Lauren. She won't say anything – well, I think. I promised her answers. She looked shaken. I... I don't know what I'm going to say to her."

"The truth is too dangerous," sighed the Lympyre. "But a lie is not the right solution either... We'll think about it together."

The Achron – if she could still be considered as such – nodded. Rarama didn't know what to say to cheer her up, so she just lavished soothing caresses on her friend's back.

An amplified voice broke the silence of the Library, echoing unpleasantly in the ears.

"All students, without exception, must go as quickly and calmly as possible to the study room dedicated to their species. I repeat, all students without exception must calmly go to the study room dedicated to their species without delay. A body was discovered."
