Ana closed the door to her bedroom. Her prison cell. Though frankly, she really was more like a guest here. A guest that wasn't allowed to leave. At least her cell was nice. And her roommate was nice to look at, if nothing else. Aidan Asgrim was way too gorgeous for his own good.
She still had no idea where he had disappeared to earlier. She'd asked his brother, Zane, but he'd just said that Aidan had to go see someone, and he hadn't looked too happy about it. Ana wasn't too happy about it either even though she knew she had no right to be upset.
She hadn't seen Aidan in five months, and he could easily have a girlfriend. She wondered how his girlfriend would feel if she knew he was holding another woman in his apartment. He was probably trying to smooth it over with her. Ana didn't want to think about how.
She'd wondered about Zane's unhappiness, but hadn't pressed. It really wasn't important. Something between him and Aidan that really wasn't any of her business, she reminded herself. But she did like Zane quite a bit. He was incredibly handsome like his brother, and he did resemble Aidan. Their eyes were similar, with Zane's being just a bit darker, though his hair was a bit lighter. All of the werewolf men she'd met so far were absolutely gorgeous. It had to be a werewolf thing.
But out of all of them, Aidan was the one she was most drawn to. Even compared to Zane. Aidan was the one she wanted, even though she was annoyed with him. She couldn't help it. She was drawn to him and all he had to do was ask, and she'd let him fuck her in a heartbeat. She craved him so much.
Ana finally worked up the nerve to ask Zane if he was a werewolf too.
He'd lifted a brow. "Almost everyone that lives here is a werewolf, Ana."
Almost everyone? That was interesting. It sounded like there were other humans that lived here too. Did they fall in love with humans? She supposed it was quite possible. Aidan had no problem with fucking her, though that didn't mean he'd fallen in love with her. Or her him. Had she? She couldn't think about that right now. It was dangerous territory.
"Do you know why I'm here?" Ana asked Zane.
"I know about Xavier and I know why your staying with my brother," Zane said with a half smile.
"I had a one night stand with your brother," Ana muttered. "A while ago. I didn't know he lived here. I'm not some crazy stalker."
"Yeah, I know. I was there when it happened," Zane said.
She stared at him for a long moment. Weirdly, he stared right back. Well maybe it wasn't weird. "You were the one sitting at the bar," she murmured, remembering how Aidan had been talking to him when she'd walked up there.
"Yup, I was there. So was Xavier," Zane gave her a pointed like.
She frowned. He'd been there too? "I didn't meet him."
"No?"
She shook her head, thinking back to that night. She couldn't remember him, but she must have seen him. She remembered thinking he looked vaguely familiar when she'd first seen his ID. "Are you related to him?"
"No."
Well that was interesting. She'd sort of wondered if they were cousins. Or something. She rolled her eyes. "But you live together."
He lifted a brow at her. "Why do you want to know, Ana?"
"I'm curious," she answered. "I know you all live in packs. Is that what this is?"
"It is." It was all he offered, and so she changed the subject, not wanting to piss him off.
"So are you married?" Why had she asked him that? It was none of her business. Though frankly at this point, she might as well ask him if Aidan had a girlfriend.
