Ana was a bit blown away by everything Aiden had told her. It made sense though. The reason she could never get him out of her head. The reason why she thought about him constantly and dreamed about him. And it sounded like he hadn't been able to forget about her either.

She wondered if he dreamed about her like she did him but she wasn't about to ask. That was private and a little bit embarrassing. Maybe one day, if she decided she wanted to stay with him, but not now.

She stared up at him now. He wasn't touching her, but he was close enough that she could feel the heat from his body. His large, gorgeous body. She still couldn't believe he'd slept naked with her last night. And she'd woken up still in his arms.

But right now, he was laying on her bed next to her, looking down on her with that gorgeous face of his that was too perfect and telling her that he loved her. He loved her. This perfect man, or at least perfect looking man loved her.

But he also hated her. And she frankly couldn't blame him. She was so jealous of the fact that he'd almost taken someone else as his mate. Some other woman who would have his love and affection. Except Aidan was still in love with her. Would breaking their bond end his love? She had no idea.

But she was still supposedly his prisoner. "Would you let me walk away?"

"Yes I would. I would need you to understand how important it is for you to keep this secret, But I would let you walk away, Ana," he responded.

"You wouldn't kill me?" She'd heard Malachi mention it.

Aidan looked completely appalled by that question. "Absolutely not. I could never harm you, Ana. I wouldn't be able to live with myself."

"I'm not quite sure how we would make this work." It was the other thing on her mind. She was a police detective in Saint Louis while he was a werewolf living in a pack in Pennsylvania

"What do you mean?"

"I mean I live in Missouri. Would you move to Missouri?" She highly doubted it, but she still wanted to ask. How badly did Aidan want to be with her?

"I couldn't move there permanently. One day Xavier will be King and when that happens, I will be his Beta or his second in command. It's my birthright," Aidan laid back down next to her, his arm brushing against her. Tingles erupted across her skin, reminded her what he'd said earlier. That it was one way he knew she was his mate. The tingles were pleasantly arousing. Her gaze darted down to the front of his sweatpants, though the way he was laying, she couldn't see much.

But his answer didn't sound very promising. She wasn't sure she wanted to give up her career. But at the same time she wasn't sure that she wanted to give up Aiden either. Especially knowing now that he was her soulmate. How often did one get a soulmate? Probably not very often. Definitely not more than once in a lifetime.

This man or werewolf or whatever he was, he was offering her everything she'd ever wanted. Not a husband, but basically the same thing. He wanted to be it for her. He wanted her to be a permanent fixture in his life. She'd obsessed over him for the last five months, regretting leaving him, and now she could have him. Could keep him.

"I haven't told you everything either, Ana." The words were spoken softly, and she wondered what he hadn't said yet.

"There's more?" She already felt overloaded with information, but Aidan must think it was important.

"Yes. This is why I didn't tell you yesterday because I didn't want to overwhelm you." He was still on his back, his head turned towards her.

She liked laying with him like this. It was nice to have someone who wanted to chat with her. She hadn't had that in quite some time. "Lay it on me."
