"So what's going to happen to me now?" Ana asked Aidan once they were back in his bedroom.

He opened the nightstand and pulled out her gun and her phone and handed them to her. "Your body is gradually going to change over the next few hours. You'll probably start to notice different things like scent first, and your wolf should start talking to you. Then we'll go outside, and you'll shift for the first time. We'll run, and Ghost will get to know your wolf. Then we'll come back, and you'll sleep for a while."

"Sounds easy. Does the shift hurt?" she asked, flipping her phone back on. "Thank you."

"No, as long as you let your wolf be in control of it."

She looked up at him. "Your wolf was in control right before you shifted. After you kissed me?"

He smiled. "Yeah, he was."

She smiled, looking down at her phone. She had a few messages, but not much.

"When are you supposed to be back at work?" Aidan asked her.

"Monday. I'm on vacation until then, though I probably could take longer if I needed to," she said quietly.

He nodded. "Do you want to talk to your family in person about your father?"

Her lips parted in surprise. Yes, but at the same time, she kind of didn't want to leave him. "It would probably be for the best."

"What's wrong?" Aidan asked her, concern on his face. He sat down on the bed. "Come here."

She walked around the bed and stopped.

"Right here. On my lap."

She straddled him and wrapped her arms around his neck. Aidan wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her against him. Ana laid her head on his shoulder. "You're going to laugh about this."

He smiled. "Probably not, but go ahead. Tell me what's bothering you, Angel."

"I don't want to leave you."

He laughed. "Okay, I lied. You really think I'm going to let you out of my sight?"

"No."

"And you'd be correct. I'll go with you, if that's okay with you," Aidan said quietly.

"Yes, it's definitely okay. I need to make a decision about my job, too," she murmured.

"I still have to work as well, Angel. We're going to have to coordinate our schedules." His arms tightened around her.

She sighed softly. "How are we going to go about asking my sister?"

"If she's a werewolf?"

"Yeah."

"We won't need to ask her. I'll be able to tell as soon as I walk into the house," Aidan told her.

"How?"

"Scent. My sense of smell is different from yours. Stronger. And I can tell if someone is a werewolf or human very easily. Except for those that know how to mask their scent. Then they can appear human." He turned his head so he could breathe in her scent. "And you have the best scent of anyone I've ever met."

"I do?" She lifted her head so she could look at him. "Isn't that how you said you could identify me?"

He smiled at her. "Yes. That was the first thing I noticed when you walked into the bar. Even before I pinpointed who it belonged to. Your scent called to my wolf, and I knew someone in the bar was my mate."

"Will you smell good to me?"

He chuckled. "Hope so. But in all reality, yes, I should smell good to you. Really good."
