Aidan lay on his back, an arm wrapped around Ana, who was dozing on his chest. For the first time in five months, he was perfectly calm. And it felt damn good.
He still couldn't believe that this was actually going to work out with Ana. That thrilled him to no end. Now she bore his mark. She was his. Forever. And after all he'd been through, it was about time. Five painful months, and it had all been worth it in the end.
The overwhelming onslaught of Ana's emotions had hit him like a ton of bricks. For the most part, she was content, and he could feel her love for him, but there was also quite a bit of sadness underneath it all and some worry. He could understand the sadness, but he was concerned about the worry. He'd have to find out about that. He didn't want her to worry about anything.
He also needed to find out if she wanted to become a werewolf or not. Of course, if she hadn't made up her mind yet, that was fine too. It wasn't what he wanted, but he'd live with it.
Ana stirred, and her emotions lazily worked their way through him. The same as before: contentment, sadness, and worry. And love. His favorite emotion from her. "Aidan," she whispered.
"Yes, Angel?"
She breathed out slowly. "For a second there, I thought this was all another dream."
Another dream, huh? He rolled her over and settled on top of her. "How many times have you dreamed of me fucking that sweet little pussy of yours?"
Her lips parted, and her cheeks turned pink. "I..." Her eyes closed. "Um."
He smirked. Plenty. "Is it as good as the real thing, Angel?"
"No," she said breathlessly as Aidan moved a bit, settling his hips up against hers.
"I agree. I love fucking you in my dreams, but nothing beats the real thing," he muttered, watching her face.
Her eyelids fluttered open. "You dreamed about me, too?"
"Yes. Many times. It's common to dream about your mate when you're apart or even before you meet them. It's how we sometimes know we're going to meet our mate soon. Like Xavier. He started dreaming about Maddie months before he actually met her. That's why when we were at the bar that night, he didn't do anything but drink," he explained.
"Did you dream about me beforehand?"
"No. But I dreamed about you every night since our initial meeting," he said. "Every damn night, Ana."
She moaned as she ground herself against his hard cock. "Aidan..."
"You're going to have to wait, Angel." He ground his hips against her in return, making another breathy moan escape her lips.
"Why?"
"Because it's lunchtime and I'm hungry." He rocked his hips against hers one more time, causing her to arch her back. Then he pulled himself off of her and stood before heading into the bathroom. Feeling her aroused was interesting. Though he needed to get his mind off sex if he had any intention of going to lunch.
Ana walked into the bathroom a moment later, still naked and looking absolutely beautiful. "Can you really feel my emotions?"
He nodded. "Yeah, though I want to know why you're worried."
She blinked, staring up at him, then looked away. "I'm worried about telling my mother and sister about my father's death. My parents were divorced, but I know my mother still loved my father, and I worry about my sister's health."
Aidan took all of that in quietly. He'd read through her father's notes about her sister's illness and how much it consumed Coleman and his sadness about feeling so helpless. "Let's get dressed and go to lunch. I think better on a full stomach. But there are many things I'd like to discuss with you."
