Breakfast was much more relaxed than Bianca had thought it would be, and the food was excellent. Violet and Vanessa, the twins, were incredibly nice too, both of them chatting easily with her through the meal. She learned that they were mated to Dylan and Damien who were also twins, which she found rather interesting. She also learned they hadn't been mated for very long; only a few months.

Violet had told her that Dylan and Damien were the nephews of the Alpha King, Malachi. She'd also pointed Malachi out to Bianca. He was sitting at a table with a few other people not too far from their current seat. He was just as good looking as every other male in the dining hall. She was surrounded by beautiful men.

Aidan was in deep conversation with the twins, a conversation that she wasn't paying attention to. She realized by mating him that she would become the Royal Beta Female at some point on down the road, though she really didn't care about it. Titles had never been that important to her. Brian had technically been below her in rank, but it had never mattered to her.

"When's your brother coming back?" Dylan asked Aidan.

She watched his jaw clench. He seemed really annoyed that Zane had taken off to Colorado.

"I have no idea. I haven't talked to him since yesterday. He should have waited until we were done at Great Lakes, and then both of us could have gone together. Sometimes he's so impulsive," Aidan muttered, annoyed.

"When do you go on another pack visit?" Damien asked him.

He frowned. "I'm not sure. I think next week."

Bianca wondered about that. She knew it would be what he did, and she supposed it would give her some time alone. Who knew how different things would be next week though. Would she be wearing his mark by then? She didn't know, but she did hope if she chose to let him mark her, things would be better between them.

She wanted to ask him about his job as a liaison, but at the moment, she didn't feel like it was any of her business. She really wasn't much of anything to him yet, except a thorn in his side. An annoyance he didn't want. She really wanted to go back to her room and stay there. She felt so uncomfortable here.

Aidan finally turned to her. "Finished?'

"Yes," she whispered.

He nodded and took her plate along with his own and got rid of them. She could feel one of the twin's eyes on her, but she didn't look up to see which one of them it was.

Aidan was back a moment later. "Ready?"

She stood, meeting his gaze briefly, then bowed her head to both sets of twins before turning to follow Aidan out of the dining hall. He stopped in front of a room not far down and walked inside. Bianca followed him in, glancing around. The room had a pool table among other things. A gaming room. Her gaze darted back to Aidan, who was staring at her. She immediately looked down. He had to hate her. What a way to start a relationship. With a man who probably hated her guts.

The tears were there, threatening to overflow, and she swallowed them back as all of a sudden, Aidan was there in front of her, lifting her chin to look at him. He was close, much closer than she ever thought he'd get to her until he marked her. There was barely in space at all between them.

She breathed him in, his scent, though it didn't really stir her. Would it? Once he marked her? She didn't know. She didn't know anyone personally who had taken a Chosen Mate. She could see the concern in his eyes as he stared at her, and that surprised her. She figured she'd see hate.

"Are you okay?"

No. "Yeah."

He tipped his head sideways. "The truth?"
