Werewolves were real. Ana never thought she'd think that, but holy shit. After reading through her father's notebooks, and deep diving into his computer, either they were real, or her father had completely gone off the deep end. But she knew that more than likely, her father had just gone straight off the deep end and taken her with him.
Ana had spent all of her free time reading through his multitude of notebooks. There were at least a hundred of them, and a lot of them had been boring. Her father liked to journal, and he'd kept notes on his daily life. She'd skimmed over the early ones, knowing if she took her time, she might be here for months reading through them all.
She'd found joy in reading about how much he'd loved both her and Gen, and how much he adored her mother. He'd been heartbroken over the end of their relationship, but he could understand why she'd left him. Ana found it ironic that both of them loved each other as much as they did and they still stayed apart. She'd give anything to be with ... No, she couldn't go there.
Her father had been involved in some unscrupulous things. Things that he could have been arrested for, which she was glad now she'd never known about, given that she was in law enforcement. She could understand now why her mother had left him. It had been more about that then about her sister. There were certain things he'd done that she just couldn't overlook.
Coleman had also done a bunch of research into her sister's illness, hoping to find a cure. Her father was incredibly smart, and if his life had been different, he could have been an amazing doctor. He was like a dog with a bone. Once he became fixated on something, he obsessed about it until he figured it out. But since he hadn't become a doctor, he'd chosen to become a paramedic instead.
Ana spent several days reading through her father's notes on his calls as a paramedic. He never mentioned names, but he still kept detailed records of each and every call. Ana had been a bit surprised by it all, though frankly she wondered why. She knew her father liked to keep detailed notes about everything.
He also seemed to get a rush out of it, out of saving people's lives and helping them. She could sort of understand that herself, as she got a rush as well whenever she solved a case. She enjoyed putting the bad guys behind bars. She always felt really good whenever she was able to close the books on a case she'd spent months working on.
Ana kept noticing a name that crept up occasionally in her father's notes, a man that her father referred to quite a bit. His name was Nolan, and her father seemed extremely intrigued by him, though at first Ana couldn't figure out why. It was at that point that she had decided to start keeping her own notes. She'd gone back and started looking for any mention of his name, writing down dates and what her father had written about him. About a year after her father had met Nolan, he came to the conclusion that Nolan was a werewolf, something that had completely shocked Ana.
She had scoffed at that one, then closed the notebook and decided she'd had enough for one night. Reading her father's notes could be rather exhausting anyway. She hadn't learned anything about his disappearance that she could tell, but she was still paying careful attention to everything. But that night had been too much, and she'd decided to go to sleep and dream of getting fucked by Aidan. Like she was every night.
She couldn't forget him. She'd tried, but Aidan had become ingrained in her memories and it didn't seem as though he had any intention of leaving, or at least his dream self didn't. She'd tried hooking up again, one night when she'd been incredibly annoyed by her desire for him, but it hadn't worked.
One kiss had made her feel like she was cheating on him, which was rather insane, but she'd had to walk away. She'd felt gross and completely repulsed by the guy's touch, and had gone into the bathroom afterwards and thrown up. For a brief second, she'd actually wondered if she was pregnant, but she knew she wasn't. She was on birth control, and she'd watched him put that condom on his beautiful cock.
Thinking about his cock had her insides warming with desire again. Aidan was always in the back of her mind, living in her head rent free.
He'd fueled her fantasies more than once. She'd spent so many nights administering self-care to memories of his mouth and fingers on her. The feel of his cock inside of her. And apparently, her fantasies were affecting her dreams, because Aidan was constantly there. Every. Single. Night.
He showed up nightly, and brought her pleasure, his hands and mouth on her body. He was always naked, his magnificent body on full display, and sometimes he'd talk to her.
Why did you leave me, Ana?
Did I not please you?
I miss you.
I need you.
And the one thing that had told her she was completely losing her mind: You're mine, Ana. My soulmate.
She wasn't sure what to think of those dreams, and just brushed them off as her being way too horny for her own good, and Aidan giving her the best sex of her life. She knew deep down that she'd been stupid to leave him, that he'd most definitely pleased her, and she missed him too. Not that she ever said any of those things to him in her dreams.
But she always woke up aroused, and longing for him. It was stupid, and not something she would admit to anyone, but Aidan had really done a number on her. She half hoped he was having sex dreams about her too, dreams that left him wanting her. Probably not, but a girl could hope.
She'd finally forced herself to stop thinking about him, to stop touching herself to memories of him, and tried to force herself to move on. Like that would ever happen. Jack from work had asked her out several times, and while she had no desire to date anyone from work, she finally gave in and went on a date with him. She'd hated every second of it, and then had agreed to a second date. At least he hadn't tried to kiss her, but she had a feeling he would try the next time. She couldn't blame him, but in all reality, she just wasn't interested.
Jack looked nothing like Aidan. Jack was blond, while Aidan's hair was dark. Jack was good looking, but not drop dead gorgeous like Aidan was. And Jack's body didn't reflect spending hours and hours at the gym like Aidan's did. Ana highly doubted Jack was pierced either. He was most definitely the safer choice between the two of them, but he didn't make her panties wet either.
She'd also turned her focus back to her father's notebooks and his delusions that his friend was a werewolf. Was her father on drugs?
Nolan seemed to be a very strong guy, his strength almost unnatural. His senses were better than the average person, and he could hear things that most people shouldn't be able to hear. He was also able to heal from an injury rather quickly, which really intrigued her father. Nolan had no health problems either. Coleman had been vague over how he'd discovered that Nolan was a werewolf, something that Ana had thought was rather odd. Her father was usually detailed about everything.
Coleman had called him a rogue wolf, a wolf without a pack, which Ana had found rather intriguing as well. Were there packs of werewolves out there? Did they wander around as wolves? Her father hadn't mentioned if Nolan turned into a monster or a wolf or what. He'd been more interested in Nolan's heightened senses and his healing abilities. It frustrated Ana, as she could think of a million questions she'd want to ask the man, but her father hadn't, or at least he hadn't written them down.
But apparently, this Nolan had seemed rather normal, or at least according to her father. He'd known the man for a year before he'd learned of his secret. Were werewolves just living out there among normal people? Had she ever come across one before and not known of it? Had she ever locked any of them away? Who knew. But there really couldn't be that many of them out there. Otherwise, the world would know. Did the government know? Probably.
Apparently, after knowing Nolan for a few years, the man had disappeared one day, and her father stopped mentioning him. After that, his entries had focused more on his job as a paramedic and his occasional visits with his daughters. Ana's heart broke as she saw how worried her father was about her sister, Gen. He was constantly looking for a way to help her. It also made her heart clench to see how much he admired Ana and the career path she'd chosen. He was incredibly proud of her. She'd been somewhat aware of it, but it was a little crazy to read about it.
