Chapter 61

Aiden lay in bed that night watching his mate sleep. He was calm and relaxed the way he had been all day which was nice for a change. This had truly been one of the best days of his life.

He and Anna still had a lot of things to work out but they would. He was going to take her back to Missouri this weekend since she had to be at work Monday. They'd be able to talk to her mom and her sister, and Aiden would be able to find out if her sister was a werewolf.

If she was, she would need a pack, though Aiden wasn't sure exactly what he would do about that. There was a pack located in Northeast Missouri,  but the Ozark pack was closer, though he wasn't sure if joining that pack would be right for  her. It would almost be better if she moved to Regal Eclipse. But they'd crossed that bridge when they came to it.

Zane and Bianca seem to be doing pretty well. The difference in Bianca at dinner had been quite noticeable. She smiled more easily, and Zane already seemed enamored with her. Aidan had a feeling Bianca would be wearing his mark before much longer.

Anna really seemed to like Maddie, and Aiden couldn't help but like her himself. She was what Xavier needed. A balance to his need for control. Though Aiden had a feeling some of that also had to do with his time away. Xavier was different.

After Anna's initial shift, they'd taken off into the woods and had met up with Maddie's new wolf, Roxy. Her black and silver wolf was beautiful and she'd been more than happy to play with Ruby.

Ana had been asleep now for almost twelve hours. Even though he knew she was fine, Aidan was starting to get a bit paranoid. He'd slept some himself, but he'd woken up frequently, checking on Anna make sure she was okay. Hadn't she slept long enough?

Thoughts of waking her up had crossed his mind, but he wouldn't. Even though it was tempting. She was tempting. She was naked, her body warm and flushed with sleep. She was beautiful and all his. Finally.

"Are you watching me sleep, Aidan?"

Her words instantly made him relax. She was fine. "Maybe."

"How are you feeling?" he asked.
