The hand I grabbed gently pulled me out of the wagon.

When I could see the man who had saved me as clear as day a gasp left my lips. My foot hit the edge of the wagon and I stumbled right over. I grasped for his chest to try to stop myself from falling into him.

His free hand wrapped around my back steadying me.

My eyes widened in surprise and I muttered apologies.

The man didn't reply. Picking me up off the wagon he put me down on my feet.

I looked back up at the man taking in his appearance once more.

He was a lot larger than I was and he looked just like a knight from a fairytale. They hadn't been kidding about him being a knight. He must have been but he didn't appear to be from this kingdom. Unless my uncle had some sort of secret knight force...?

Asides from his armoured hands his face was covered by a large helmet. It was black and covered in different patterns with gold and white.

His form was covered by a massive coat which draped over his shoulders. From where I was standing though you could tell he was actually a very slim man.

There was no way to see what lied underneath though. The only indicated that this man wasn't made of metal was the long black hair which laid on his shoulders.

"I'm so sorry thank you." I said snapping out of my daze.

The man once again said nothing. Only looking me over.

I couldn't even tell what he was thinking, but something in my gut was telling me it was alright. He wasn't a threat. After all he had just saved me from those bandits.

Speaking of...

I glanced back.

My stomach sank at the sight, but I couldn't tare my eyes away.

The group of bandits was no more. Each and every one of them had been brutally murdered. Blood covered the ground and even part of the wagon. They all had some sort of stab wounds whether it be the chest, neck, or even head.

I took in a steady breath.

This wasn't my first time seeing such a cruel scene, but it still made me feel a little queasy.

So turning away I focused back on the man before me.

"Thank you. I'm not sure what I would have done had you not shown up." I said giving the man a soft smile.
